About this listen

Who needs love when getting justice sounds so much sweeter…? Shae Silverstorm

Freedom is all I’ve dreamed about for the last fifteen years. When I see my chance to escape captivity, I have to take the risk. And for once, luck is on my side.

However, I have no doubt my captors are looking for me.

When I get approached by an eccentric group of misfits called MEOW Squad (don’t even ask) offering to keep me safe and help me get justice, I don’t have much choice but to accept.

The only problem? One of them has the bonkers notion that I’m his fated mate.

Fine. I’ll admit, Wolf Boy has a seriously hot surfer bod, not to mention unfairly cute furry ears and a tail. Talk about a deadly combo. But love is for suckers and fated mates aren't to be trusted. I've got proof of that. Taking down my evil father, wicked stepmonster, and cruel stepsister has to be my top priority.

But damn if Griffin isn’t starting to break through my strongest defenses though, with his puppy-dog eyes, sunshiny personality, and dog-like (pun intended) devotion to me.

Griffin McIntyre

When I find a magical gold coin straight out of Tolkien (sweet!), it tells me it’s my “Lucky Day.”

And that’s proven the moment I meet Shae because he’s my fated mate.

As a Wolfkin with empathic magic abilities, I was a disappointment to my old pack. Now, as a member of MEOW Squad, I use my powers to help those in need. And I’ve never met anyone who needs me more than Shae.

All I want is to help him heal and get the justice he deserves. Oh, and have him accept our mate bond. If I can conquer a ten-foot wave, then I can do this!

I’ll wait as long as it takes. Just like ice cream and apple pie, we’re meant to be.

Siren in the Rain

Shae is living a sad life and when he gets the chance to escape his prison he grabs the chance. This brings him into Griffin’s life. Shae and Griffin are great characters and their story is sweet and sexy but it does contain some heavy issues and angst. I enjoyed the way the relationship grows between these two. As Shae works to get his life back Griffin and his team work to help him fight back and find justice. I loved meeting each of Griffin’s team and am excited to see where they go from here. Narrator Joel Leslie does a wonderful job of bringing this world and its characters to life and I was quickly immersed in their story.

Shae & Griffin

Shae & Griffin

I really enjoyed reading this one. While it is cute at different points, it does deal with some heavy issues. That doesn't take away from how enjoyable this story is. Griffin is so cute and the perfect mate to help grumpy Shae heal from what he's endured. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the other MEOW squad members get their happily ever after also. I enjoyed listening to this story even more than reading it. I absolutely loved Joel Leslie's narration for this.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

wolf boy for the win

I absolutely love Joel Leslie. He does an amazing job of bringing a story to life.
Griff has got to be my new favorite character. He is so sweet and caring and perfect for Shae. Shae has so much to overcome but he still manages to be everything Griff needs, with a side of snarky.
I am so looking forward to more from the Meow squad.

Wolfkin Roll!

Joel Leslie was perfection with this narration! So much laughing and smiling here! Griffin was the biggest, simply most lovable wolfkin ever. He was all sun, hearts and rainbows for his Siren mate Shae. Shae was a bit grumpy over the entire thing which made it so much fun. Shae had his reasons to not leap in and trust others. He hides behind his snark and tries to avoid feelings. But I enjoyed that Griffin in his efforts to keep his Shae safe he also gave Shae the chance to let his walls down and let him in. I adored Griffin more than the words I can type here. Looking forward to maybe some more MEOW Love in the future!

I loved this story

I absolutely adored the character of Griffin in this. He is such a big goofball with a heart of gold. He was the perfect mate for Shae to prove that he could beyond his family’s treatment of him. This story was also a good fit int the Far Coin series. It was one of my favorites. Also…Joel Leslie. He is one of the best!

just perfect

Chloe has paired with Joel Leslie, has the narrator for this, and omg, he is the perfect choice! He has a way of making the emotions stronger for these men who were made to be together. Brings in the right sass when needed and the true pain when needed. It's perfect work. I'm so happy to see this pairing and hope to see it happen again in the future.

From reading all of Chloes' previous works, you know she can write, but wow, she proves to us in this how diverse of a writer she truly is. Yes, you still get the chaos of her previous works in this, but now you see the angst of a broken past righted.
Shae has been held captive for the last fifteen years, and this is his tale of finally being free and falling in love at the same time. His past has left him understandably jaded, so it's no surprise it takes a loveable wolfkin to break down those barriers. Griff is a beautifully excitable, slightly himbo surfer wolfkin who will do everything and anything for his fated mate. He shows a true honor in the way he allows Shae to set the pace of their relationship. These two have undeniable chemistry from the getgo, yet it takes time to get there.
With the help of the MEOW team, Shae gets his well-deserved vegence of the family that wronged him in so many ways. The story is fun and emotional tale from start to finish in Shaes new free life. The MEOW team is a loveable buch of characters that I hope to see more of in the future, to find their hea as well.

Adorable and fun

"Siren in the Rain" is the newest release in the multi-author, Fortune Favors the Fae series by Chloe Archer. This book contnues to follow the journey of the very special coin as it brings another couple together. In this case the couple are abuse victim and half-Siren, Shea and Wolfkin Empath, Griffin. Because of circumstances this is a book with hurt/comfort, Found Family, and Grumpy/Sunshine themes. This book is the first in a new series set in the authors Monsters Hollow universe but can be read apart from that series with no problem. It's nice to get more of a glimpse of the world even though that world can be cruel and unjust. There are some darker themes in this book, but they are handled with a softer touch, so that the lightness of the characters can shine through and the focus can be on the budding romance.

This is an adorable romance between fated mates. It is slow burn as characters need to heal and recover from horrible circumstances. I love all the characters but Griffin fills that place I love for cinnamon roll/golden retriever characters. He is simply adorable and he and Shea fit well together and deserve their HEA. I can't wait to see how this series progresses and read more of the Fortune Favors the Fae books.

This was a highly enjoyable listen. Joel Leslie did a great job with bringing the characters to life. This might be one of my favorite narrations from him. I highly recommend reading any format of this book.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

So good!!

I loved this book so much! Joel Leslie does an amazing job bring it to life! Griffin the lovable himbo golden retriever wolfkin and his grumpy siren mate Shae. I love their relationship and how it develops through the story. How Griffin supports Shae through everything which allows Shae learn to trust and love Griffin. This made my heart so happy. In addition, The Meow squad is amazing! I can’t wait for the rest of their stories. I definitely recommend listening to this story.

MEOW Squad!

Ahh, this book had all the feels! Griffin our lovable Wolfskin was totes adorable. He was too cute for his own good. He made you love him right from the start. His backstory was sad, it helped to give us a peek at why he is the way he is.
Shae, oh boy. That poor baby needed all the love! His life was tragic. I couldn't imagine having my own family treat me the way he was treated. He was so guarded and rightfully so. Having the MEOW squad being the one to find and help him was the best thing that could have happened to him. That group of misfits were able to show him what family really should be like. And of course Griff was able to use his gift to ease his fears and worries.
Joel's narration is the best. The way he makes each character have a distinct voice is amazing. I absolutely love his voice for papa bear.
This was a great start to a spin off series. I can't wait to see what happens next
