About this listen

Growing up with four unruly brothers has made Freyja Bedwyn far bolder than most society ladies. From feisty manner to long, tumbling hair, Lady Freyja is pure fire - a woman who seeks both adventure and freedom.

Adventure soon finds her on a visit to Bath, when a handsome stranger bursts into Freyja's room and entreats her to hide him. His name is Joshua Moore, Marquess of Hallmere, a man with a hell-raising reputation of his own who is quickly intrigued by the independent beauty. So intrigued, in fact, that he makes her a surprising request: to pose as his fiancée and help thwart his family's matchmaking schemes.

For two people determined to be free, it's the perfect plan, until passion blindsides them both. For as Joshua sets out to achieve his complete seduction of Freyja, a woman who has sworn off love is in danger of losing the one thing she never expected to give again: her heart.

Mary Balogh really does a fabulous job of getting you emotionally invested, in her stories. I thought Judith’s aunt was a piece of work, in book 2. Joshua’s aunt comes in book 3, like “hold my beer”. So glad the aunt gets what she deserves, by the end of the story. I loved the character development of our hero and heroin, in this story. As always Rosalyn Landon gives another great performance. She is by far my favorite narrator for regency stories.

Favorite book of the Bedwyn series!

I liked the fact that when there was an issue it was not kept away from the person(s) that should know.
It was where the MFC and MMC worked together to get thru it and not making things worse.
I don't care for story lines that are soo focused on the secrets.

Good listen

I really enjoyed the story and loved the hero, Josh, not so much the the heroine, Freyja. She was written with such a negative attitude and she spoke to the hero as if he were a stupid child. Also I didn’t like that she felt she always had to best Josh at everything and unnecessarily used violence. With that said, whacking the marchioness was warranted. Enjoyed the reappearance of the other Bedwyn family members. If u overlook the heroine then it’s a good read.

Heroine too negative!

I'm now addicted to this authors books! I keep thinking that her next book can not possibly be as good as the last one! So far I love them all!

The perfect romance. I had to chuckle at some of the most ridiculous statements but, after all, it serves exactly as a good romance novel should. I really enjoyed all the characters and especially the protagonists and their banter.

Thoroughly entertaining!

I remember Lady Freyia Bedwyn’s story being one of not my favorite story in the series. I have read it a number of times. However, listening to it now, I didn’t enjoy it as much as when I read it myself, and I’m not sure why. Could be I’m more mature and found the character whinny and immature, and like I say, just don’t know, really…but I’m going to blame not liking this story as much on myself and not on the author or narrator, who are both always so perfect! Must be something I’m going through…

A bit disappointed and not sure why…
