“I’m here to see my fiancé. I believe you know Parker, Dad…”
That sentence seems innocent enough in the right setting. But the woman’s father? Yeah, he happens to be my boss. The first time I met Cashlynn O’Neil, she thought she was going to die before the plane we were on ever left the ground. So I did what any gentleman would do—I comforted her, kept her distracted, and then later that night, she ended up back in my hotel room to thank me.
But then a year later she waltzed in the Carrington Cove Animal Hospital and told her father we were engaged.
And that would have been harmless, except the last time I was engaged it left me scarred beyond repair, vowing never to entertain the idea of love again.
I can’t fall for my boss’s daughter.
I can’t keep lying to myself about how I feel either.
But is it possible that someday you learn that it’s not the wrong person that will make you question what you want in life, but it’s the right one?
And is Cashlynn the right woman for me?

Spice: 3/5
Spice Hierarchy: Spicy
Narration: 4/5, dual
Parker has a one night stand while on a work conference. One year later, in walks the woman of his dreams and his one night. Only she is more than that. Cashlynn is Parker’s boss’s daughter. And before Parker has any time to process what’s happening, Cashlynn announces they are engaged. Now they are living together and learning more and more about the other.
Leading up to Parker’s story through the rest of the series, I wasn’t sure I was going to like his story. He was too “anti-love” and I didn’t know where his story was going to go. But I love Parker. From the prologue, you immediately feel for him and realize how broken Parker really is. Cashlynn wants to be seen and finally pursue her passions. Adding in her ‘make him break’ antics, I was loving these two so much.
Let’s be honest. I am a sucker for relationships of convenience. When it's written by Harlow James, I know I’m going to enjoy it. Add in Emma Wilder and Teddy Hamilton as the narrators, and we have a solid gold story that I love. Cashlynn when she has had a few drinks, that narration from Emma had me cackling. I felt myself in that moment and loved the way it was narrated.
A fun, easy listen

I listened to this book in audio. The narrators are Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder who did such a phenomenal job. This book had it all and the narrators brought us back to the beautiful Carrington Cove. Teddy and Emma were brilliant as Parker and Ashlyn. They gave us the laughs we love and the emotional moments we come to know from Harlow. The complicated manner of this story kept me invested and I needed to know how it was going to end. I Swear that Harlow loves to break our hearts but she took care and gave us the ending we wanted but didn't know we needed. She put moments in this story that had me blushing and others that had me holding my belly laughing. Harlow has written such a beautiful family element and I wish that this place was real because I need to know these characters in person and be apart of their family.
Thank you Harlow for giving us this story to read and absolutely love. Your books always give me that hometown feel that I adore. I am looking forward to Hazel's book cuz that teaser at the end....let's just say that wasn't very nice....Lol
This series has consumed my life and I love it!

Cashlynn is wrestling with her fear of flying, gripping her seat like it owes her money. Enter Parker, her seatmate, who can't watch her panic without stepping in. He masterfully distracts her until they touch down in Philadelphia, where the drama level dials up. But plot twist—an unexpected evening surprise leaves Parker reeling.
Zoom ahead to Cashlynn storming into her dad's animal hospital, boldly announcing Parker as her fiancé. Cue the double whammy: Parker's clueless about this "engagement," and Cashlynn's dad, her boss, holds the keys to his future!
What kicks off as a charade blossoms into genuine feelings and epic character development. Romance and tension waltz seamlessly as they tackle hurdles together.
A roaring applause to Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder for breathing life into Parker and Cashlynn!

Parker Sheppard has clearly been through the wringer. We don’t know the details, but based on the hints from previous books, a past relationship (someone he was engaged to apparently) left him all sorts of messed up. I was so ready to get down to the nitty and gritty and find out what’s been holding Parker back all this time. Harlow really crafts these characters that you can’t help but root for and Parker was no different. He’s seen his brothers and best friend find love, but he’s adamant that he’s too messed up to ever go down that route again. Famous last words, am I right?
Enter Cashlynn O’Neill. These two have a fun meet cute where they don’t really exchange names or many real details, but they end up having one wild night on a trip and going their separate ways. Even though Parker wasn’t looking for more, he hasn’t been able to get the woman off his mind for the last year. When she walks into his office and tells her father (oh yeah, that’s his boss, btw) that Parker is her fiancé, he’s more confused than ever.
Turns out Cashlynn needs the cover to keep her father off her back while she moves back to Carrington Cove and makes a big life change. Parker, ever the noble, caring man he is, plays along to help her. Of course, these two still have some insane chemistry just waiting to burst free at a moment’s notice, so playing house is harder on both of them than they expected.
I loved how the ladies took Cashlynn in and supported her in the many ways they did, even coming up with the shenanigans to drive Parker crazy. I loved how Parker’s brothers and Grady were supportive and could draw on their own mistakes and experiences with their women to help Parker along with his troubles too. When Parker made the decision to go all in and try to get his stuff sorted so he could be better for Cashlynn, it was so so sweet. My heart broke for him when we finally found out the whole story of his past, but I loved that he took the steps needed to finally process what happened.
Once again, another A++++ book in this series from Harlow. I truly can’t get enough of this series and these characters. I’m so excited for the next one!!
Thank you to Harlow and her team!
Parker finally gets his HEA!!!

Carrington Cove Book 4
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder
One thing I will never get tired of is finding the Friends references in Harlow’s books. What’s even better is reading the book and then scrolling social media and a clip of said reference shows up.
Now on to Parker and Cashlynn. A plane ride, a one night stand, a surprise fake engagement and learning to love again.
Might be my favorite💚

Parker has sworn off relationships but allowed himself to indulge in a one-night stand with a beautiful stranger he met on an airplane. They had an incredible connection, and he was flabbergasted when she bolted out of his hotel room afterward. Flash forward to a year later, and Parker is rendered speechless when Cashlynn shows up at the veterinary practice where he works, and it turns out that she his boss' daughter, and she claims they are engaged!
Parker is so stunted after the failure of his previous engagement, and he truly goes through so much growth before the end of this book. Meeting Cashlynn and falling in love with her (despite his best efforts not to!) changes him and makes him realize that he is more than the trauma of his past relationship and the guilt he's been carrying around.
Although Parker is hesitant at first (because everyone who knows him knows he has sworn off relationships), he agrees to the "engagement." Cashlynn is looking to start over her life in Carrington Cove, and with her dad on the brink of retirement, she agrees to nudge her dad in handing over the practice to Parker. As it turns out, Cashlynn is exactly what the buttoned-up Parker needs in his life. He's so regimented, and she crashes into his space and turns things upside down. Literally and figuratively. (I loved the unplugging of the appliances to get under his skin!)
These two characters balance each other so well, and I thought that Harlow James really wrote a lovely tale in Someday You Learn. Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite narrators, and I loved listening to him as Parker. He brought such depth to his performance, perfectly executing the nuances of the character's vulnerability in tender moments as well as the growly lust in the spicier scenes. Likewise, Emma Wilder was vivid in the way she portrayed Cashlynn's strength and determination as well as her frustration when it comes to her relationship with her father.
I loved how close the siblings are in this book. I jumped into this series for the first time with book 4. I wish I had gotten to know Parker in those previous books, because I feel like I really would have appreciated seeing him find love even more! I am most definitely interested in going back to read the other books in this series, and I am intrigued for Hazel's book after that teaser at the end!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
So much deeper than just a second-chance romance!
