About this listen
Brian Timilty is running for mayor on an anti-superhero ticket, and the amazing Spider-Man is his biggest target. But Timilty is secretly the pawn of Tyler Stewart, a wealthy businessman seeking to take over New York's mobs. To ensure his success, Stewart hires two of Spider-Man's deadliest foes, Electro and the Rhino, and executes a plan guaranteed to keep the wall-crawler from interfering with his grand designs: He frames Spider-Man for a grisly murder! Forced into hiding, Spider-Man must find a way to clear his name without being shot on sight, for he is wanted dead or alive.

Hey, hey, book lovers, take off those big thick glasses - this is Deadpool speaking! Sorry Marvel, somethin' happened to your copy guy. Anyway, this is my first prose novel, and they got this dude Stefan Petrucha to write it. He's good people. He's written novels and comics. But here's the thing: This book is about dogs. Dogs that turn into big nasty monsters. And then I gotta kill 'em. Thing is, I like killing people - the ones that deserve it, anyway - but I won't kill dogs. So that's what we call a character dilemma.

Stark Industries has developed means of quickly and easily detecting Chitauri DNA, but the federal government refuses to adopt the technology, claiming that if the tech is widely available, the Chitauri will find a way to fool it. Taunted and tormented by other children, Matt's life was irrevocably altered after he was blinded by radioactive materials while saving the life of an old man. The payoff? I love so many of the Spider-Man books that are out there. This is one that lies in the top 5 for sure. It reminded me so much of the adventures of all the Spider-Man games and just made me smile throughout. If you're a fan of Spidey; this is a must

Good short story. Kinda different.
Felt this was a pretty good story. Liked how the main villain was more a political crime villain opposed to normal super. Felt more timely given current climate. However, my only down score is that they underused the rhino. Felt he could have had more to do. Worth a listen though.

Great story, mediocre narration
Loving comics and many other audible versions of comics, I was not impressed by the narration of this. Often monotone, there was little emotion in the voice acting as a whole. I also cannot enjoy whisper yelling. Aside from the narration, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and listened mostly happily throughout.

Generic and Not Really a Memorable Spidey Story
The story is both consulted and extremely simple. What you see is what you get and there isn't even much spiderman in this spiderman story. You could actually change him out for anyone and the story would still work as intended.
It feels like this premise has a lot of potential but this is low effort. Generic story with Spidey tacked on. One dimensional villains. Forced conflict and forced resolution. This would at best be a throwaway episode on the Saturday morning circuit.

a comic book in book form
the narration
the narrator dose a good job. while he dosen't sound like a person who would play Peter parker he dose a great job and brings the characters to life.
the book
unfortunately it dose not feel like a book it feels more like a comic the story is simple wraps up to cleanly, situations are to easily gotten out of. it's like a longer more in depth story is set up but never fully explored like a 2 episode arch of a tv show that needs 3 episodes but is forced to conclude in the second. while the story still fun I'd rather listen to something else.
I'd recommend this for a good price mybe 10 or less but for any more feels to short.
