About this listen

An aircraft carrier adrift with a crew the size of a small town. A killer in their midst. And the disgraced Navy SEAL who must track him down . . . The high-octane debut thriller from New York Times bestselling writing team Webb & Mann—combat-decorated Navy SEAL Brandon Webb and award-winning author John David Mann.

A BARRY AWARD NOMINEE“Sensationally good—an instant classic, maybe an instant legend.”—Lee Child

The moment Navy SEAL sniper Finn sets foot on the USS Abraham Lincolnto hitch a ride home from the Persian Gulf, it’s clear something is deeply wrong. Leadership is weak. Morale is low. And when crew members start disappearing one by one, what at first seems like a random string of suicides soon reveals something far more sinister: There’s a serial killer on board. Suspicion falls on Finn, the newcomer to the ship. After all, he’s being sent home in disgrace, recalled from the field under the dark cloud of a mission gone horribly wrong. He’s also a lone wolf, haunted by gaps in his memory and the elusive sense that something he missed may have contributed to civilian deaths on his last assignment. Finding the killer offers a chance at redemption . . . if he can stay alive long enough to prove it isn’t him.

Good read

Enjoyed listening to this. Entertaining story. The end got a little silly, but overall would recommend.

Seal aboard

Liked the plot line, although it took a long time to develop the story line. It was dozens of chapters before the characters even knew a murder had occurred. And I felt like they took the obvious pc route at the end but overall it was a good story, especially if you enjoy the military and a mystery.

Twist after twist, serial killer on the carrier

Unique setting on the carrier. Who is the killer? The seal whose reason for being aboard is unknown to everyone, including the seal. Or one of the other characters in the book. Like any good thriller/mystery, you will not know until the end of the book.

Murder in a Tin Ship

I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Flynn was a very interesting character. The story was well written and the narrative was spellbinding.

A great murder mystery

The best murder mystery experience I’ve ever had. The authors create a lot of character background but stick around for the fabulous ending

Slow Burn

This story started out fairly slow and continued at that pace throughout the book. Overall the story was decent enough but the combination of the narration and pace of the story made me just want the narrator to get to the point. I found myself saying what the narrator would say before he said it, confirming to myself how predictable the story became. But, it did keep my attention enough to finish the book as I tried to guess who the killer was. The story had a nice twist at the end but overall not good enough for me to continue on with the series.

Wow!

I absolutely loved this book. Lots of mystery, unexpected turns and excellent narration. The combination of these 3 made it a great book to listen to. The narrator did an amazing job of voicing the intensity of the characters and each scene. The writers make the listener anxiously await every next word. Anticipating a second book!!
