About this listen

One year ago, Captain Jake Mahegan led a Delta Force team into Afghanistan to capture an American traitor working for the Taliban. The mission ended in tragedy. The team was infiltrated and decimated by a bomb. An enemy prisoner was killed. Mahegan was dismissed from service - dishonored forever.

Now, haunted by the incident, Mahegan is determined to clear his name. The military wants him to stand down. But when the American Taliban returns to domestic soil - headed by the traitor who ruined his life - Mahegan is the only man who knows how to stop him. Outside the law. Under the radar. Out for vengeance...

Very fast pace story

Who new that one could pack this much action over the course of three days! Jake Mahegan is definitely the guy you want on your side in a fight!
If you like Tom Clancy or Robert Ludlum, you will love AJ Tata. He's a fantastic author. I'm on my way to get the sequel...

Excellent book and series

The Jake Mahegan series is outstanding. Fast paced, realistic, technically and tactically sound and plausible. If you are a fan of Mitch Rapp, Scott Harvath, or the Gray Man, you will absolutely love these books!

Good Read

Excellent story. plenty of action. Leaves plenty of room for sequels. Jake ( Chatin) is an excellent character to continue behind the action.

Series starts great…

5* if Tata had left out the political narratives. The author repeatedly writes that the MC doesn’t involve himself in politics & to the extent that he has any political beliefs, they do not affect his duties or performance. Yet, Tata inserts more opinions that became increasingly transparent and extreme with each book in the series. By the end of book 6, it’s straight up maga propaganda.

Smart/Sophisticated

This is 100 % Mark Greany 'Grey Man' good with adult sophistication in that it's not like several juvenile authors I've suffered in this genre... thank you sir! I like the story, the characters, and the narrator.

First In Series..Not Quite In Stride Yet

The story was pretty good but character development was not too far along. Given its the first installment, need to wait to hear second installment to form an opinion. Again, story was good but characters were not entirely developed. Need to get to know the hero a bit better....
