About this listen

Storm Force is another addictive gripping crime thriller, the seventh in a chilling series of serial killer books, ones that will rapidly convert followers of L J Ross, Faith Martin, Joy Ellis, Damien Boyd and J M Dalgliesh into David Blake devotees.

Two marked men, three missing women and an approaching storm, powerful enough to change the Norfolk landscape forever. As a category four storm looms large over Norfolk’s wide open horizon, DI John Tanner is given the task of solving a high-profile murder. But when another body is found just as three women are reported missing, he faces a race against time to uncover the truth before the storm moves in to destroy everything in its path, including the evidence Tanner so desperately needs.

Great mystery!

Love the dialogue and humor. The character interaction is entertaining and moves story along nicely.

Great to listening

I’m fast going through this series of books. I keep thinking I have figured it out and I keep getting it wrong. Excellent stories and the narrator’s great as well. I’m enjoying every one of the books in this series

Good Detective Story

The narrator does an excellent job. I like listening to him. I listened to Long Gore Hall first on a different platform not knowing I was starting way into the book set. So with that, I think you can listen to these books out of order and be kind of okay. If you are looking for just a good, old fashion (in this case, British) crime solving detective book, then these are it. I liked Long Gore Hall better, but this one was still pretty good. I like Detective Tanner and the different cases he takes. I really enjoy all the side characters too. I don’t mean to be the profanity police, but I personally like to know before starting a book. So, heads up, that there is profanity. It seems easier on the ears when a heavy British accent is saying it, haha, and it is used where expected and not just needlessly thrown in everywhere. (Although, the use of JC could be toned down.) Anyway, good story.

Good story and narration..

I enjoy David Blake's books. This one was really a mystery, since it seemed to be different killers and blackmailers and it was tough figuring out who was who and who did what. The one thing I really, really hated in this story was what happened to Alice. That was not at all necessary, Mr. Blake.

There was no romance, just an attempt at one, and the F-bomb was used 12 times.

As for the narration: Love, love, love Jonathan Keeble. Fantastic at voices and emotions when he reads.

Brilliant

A very fresh expression of police procedural. I appreciate coming to know each character and anticipate aspects which appear across the successive stories in this series. Yet, while I expect multiple cases to be linked and for Tanner to get a bollocking, one never knows how these foundational elements will present I’ve binge- listened to this series included with my audible plus subscription and will purchase the last two books after I finish Book 9 because I’m fully invested and mildly addicted.

Good, quick listen.

So far, all the books in the series are good for what they are- quick, easy listens to get you through while waiting for something else. Easy to solve, not too intense. I recommend for that and for Jonathan Keeble, whose narration keeps it lively!
