About this listen

Fall in love with the beautiful Jewel Island this summer, where the sapphire sea sparkles, the golden sun warms your skin and the islanders melt your heart.

From the best-selling author of The Little Village of Happiness comes Holly Martin’s most romantic novel yet.

Aria Philips has lived on Jewel Island all of her life. Even when her sisters left its stunning shores, Aria stayed to help her father run their family hotel. A year after her father’s death, Aria’s done everything she can to keep things afloat, but the hotel has long been struggling to make a profit.

With so few guests, Aria risks losing the only home she’s ever had. Noah Campbell earned his fortune from making hotels a success, and he also just happens to be staying on Jewel Island this summer. Could he be the answer to Aria’s problems? Yet, for the past year Noah has been keeping a secret, and his return to Jewel Island is about to change Aria’s life forever.

The reality of relationships, especially when working together always makes for a good story. Love, pain, growth and healing are all part of healthy relationships.

This story shows the reality ...

I really had to work hard to listen to the voice. Story could have been so much better with a softer, clear spoken diction.

The narration voice was not a good fit.

Cannot understand the narrator. I tried many times to listen, but never could understand the narrator. Please have someone who doesn’t have the silly accent.

Horrible narration

(On my husbands account) I usually love the romance trope…the cheesier the better-it is my escape. This book though, this book struck several cords. The shaming of the main character was awful. The dude should have been the one apologizing and running after her. The repetition of “oh I’m adopted” and “oh everyone leaves” and “oh I’ve had a hard childhood” Is redundant and ridiculous over and over again. It could have been so much better.

Female shamed and repetitive writing.

The storyline is okay, but narration matters.
The main character’s constant reminder of the “poor me” did nothing for the story.
Because if the horrible narration I will not buy the rest of the series.

Narration matters!
