Helpful for review

Helpful to review key concepts but basic. I would recommend it because of the focus on test taking strategies and psychotherapy review. You will need more sources to round out your study plan. The narrator mispronounces some things which could be distracting for some.

Great supplement for studying for boards

This is excellent for studying for the ANCC PMHNP boards. The material is laid out well to absorb the key concept one would study from the ANCC “purple book”.

Very basic review for students.

This is a decent review for students. I mistakenly thought it was "supplemental" information so I thought it would be above and beyond the very basics of practice. The psychopharmocology section is just a basic definition, not any real helpful information about meds or prescribing. Book is fine as a 101 level book.

Many mistakes, poor narration

There are multiple mistakes in this book. For example, venlafaxine is not an MAOI. It is a SNRI. The narrator, while he has a lovely voice, mispronounces many terms, making the reading unprofessional.
