About this listen

He’s an unrepentant sinner, East End rogue, and devoted charmer of anything in petticoats. But Rafe Sutton has one small problem: he cannot seem to recall what happened between himself and one delectable, surly governess.

He woke in her bed with the devil’s own headache and no memory of the evening before. Now, he’s on a mission to unravel the mystery, for the sake of his pride and for the honor he had not previously believed he possessed.

But Miss Persephone Wren has secrets she cannot afford to reveal. She is not about to allow a madcap rake to endanger her comfortable life as governess to his twin nieces. Persephone knows men of Rafe Sutton’s ilk—they’re the same, regardless of their station. All she has to do is maintain her resolve and her glacial reserve. Eventually, he will tire of his sport and leave her alone.

When her carefully constructed lies begin to crumble, however, Persephone is faced with a difficult choice. Surrender to the danger awaiting her, or trust in Rafe, the handsome scoundrel who has somehow found his way into her heart…

Another book ruined by bad narration

Who ever is producing these audio books please listen to them before you inflict them on us. The author certainly deserves more from the narrators than what she got with these two. Granted Rupert Channing was far and above Rachael Beresford but with all the mispronounced words that isn’t saying much. Please do NOT inflict bad narrators on us!

Listening to Ms Beresford read (act?) one of Ms Scott’s steamy scenes in a robotic dull monotonous tone was enough to make me throw my phone down in disgust. It was all I could do to finish this book. Read this one - don’t spend money on the audiobook

too much inner dialogue - bad narration

I’m convinced a ghost writer has written some of S.Scott’s books, this is not the usual style is which she writes. The premise of the storyline in a very good one but there is very little dialog between the characters. The narration

Nice and short with interesting characters

I just wish there wasn't the dreaded by me third act self-sacrificing dramatics and the "you never said that you love me" nonsense. it always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. but this epilogue made up for it.
I like Rachael Beresford as a narrator. she makes mistakes but I wasn't distracted by them. IMHO what's needed is better EDITING AND PRODUCERS to review for errors! Also I was discussing this with Loretta Chase and she said that her usual audiobook narrator actually emails her about pronunciation and communicates regarding the languages and characters as she prepares for the performance. And this demonstrates why there are top tier narrators and those less than. I often wonder if they even bother to READ the book beforehand...some do.

Great

Thoroughly enjoyable story. Lots of heat. What else can I say? I like the characters. I love the dialogue. I’m enjoying the series.

Mouthwatering

Love the underdog knight. Beautiful connection. Great story follow through from book one. Narrated well. Unfollow I won’t be able to go to book 3 as Anthony Ferguson kills a story as a narrator.

Narrator unbearable

I never could engage with the story due to the narrators. One spoke fast and one dragged. I had to stop in Chapter 2. A wasted purchase.
