Publisher's summary

At age 20, Molly Shakespeare knows a lot. She knows Descartes and Kant. She knows academia and Oxford. She knows that the people who love you leave you. She knows how to be alone.

But when Molly leaves England's gray skies behind to start a new life at the University of Alabama, she finds that she has a lot to learn - she didn't know a summer could be so hot, she didn't know students could be so intimidating, and she certainly didn't know just how much the folks of Alabama love their football.

When a chance encounter with notorious star quarterback Romeo Prince leaves her unable to think of anything but his chocolate-brown eyes, dirty-blond hair, and perfect physique, Molly soon realizes that her quiet, solitary life is about to dramatically change forever....

Critic reviews

"Anna Parker-Naples's portrayal of Molly Juliet Shakespeare captures the dramatic highs and lows in this modern-day spin on a Shakespeare classic. Molly is a teaching assistant working on her master's degree at the University of Alabama, where she becomes the object of desire of star quarterback Romeo Prince. Parker-Naples's English accent and lilting voice bring out Molly's uniqueness as well as her innocence and moments of sadness when she's reminded of her lonely past. This sweetness is transformed into a rough sexiness during Molly's erotic interludes with Romeo...she differentiates voices well and knows how to pace her reading to project the hostility encountered by the young lovers." The story was okay. It was a little predictable. The narrator was just awful when it came to the southern accents. If that is what you can say she was trying to do. The English accent was ok.

Love the story, don't like the performance

This story is awesome...I couldn't put the book down, unfortunately, I couldn't listen to the performance. This is a read only book for me.

Sweet College Romance

Such a sweet romance with the fun of word play in the main characters names. Just like the real Romeo and Juliet, they click right away. Unlike Shakespeare characters, these do get an HEA. There are enough twists in the story though to keep it interesting.

Narrator does good job with English accent but not so good with the southern ones. Might even been better with dual narration.

Did nothing for the story

If you could sum up Sweet Home in three words, what would they be?

Epic Sad union

Would you be willing to try another one of Anna Parker-Naples’s performances?

No her voice for the bullet was awful so if she did it that way again then no. Her English accent was great though

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

both laughed and cried

Any additional comments?

I loved these books and rome and his English girl were great but this audio was a bit annoying

Not sure how I feel.

Okay so I love a good sport romance and I especially love a good football romance. I did not hate this book but I also did not love it. I felt like Romeo parents was way too over the top for a modern story. I hated that portion and the drama they bought. I LOVED the supporting characters. I also thought that Romeo and Molly's love story was cute. I love when the underdog wins!

Roll Tide!

I enjoy Tillie Cole's books but I admit this one holds a special place in my heart - since I am a Bama girl! Roll Tide!

The Southern accent is awful, the story is good.

The Southern accent the narrator used was not only awful, but offensive and nerve wrecking. Thankfully this was a reread type if listen and I already knew how good the story was. otherwise I would have DNFed this book.

Just Like Romeo and Juliet ... Well Sorta

I love this story and Tillie Cole is quickly climbing the list as one of my favorite authors. Rome and Molly are such interesting and compelling characters and they are surrounded by loyal and interesting friends. This has the makings of a must listen to series with a very strong beginning. Molly and Rome have such different lives yet somehow they seem to be a perfect fit. This is an enticing story of young love overcoming many obstacles and I was cheering for them all the way.

Anna does a really good job as narrator for Molly and a marginal job as narrator for the southern females but absolutely awful as narrator for the southern males, especially Rome. Fortunately, this was such a good story I could overlook this part of the narration,

Definitely worth the credit. I am really looking forward to the rest of the series.

Terrible Narrator for Mail Voice

I like the storyline and the college atmosphere, however, it was difficult to listen to the narrator speaking for the male character. The female was fine.
It's difficult to listen to child abuse and I'm always happy when bad parents/guardians get their just reward. I enjoy a story with an HEA and like to see two strong characters come together and fight for the right to stay together. Nothing comes easy if it's worth it. As human beings we seem to appreciate things when we have to work harder for them.
The book overall what a good read.......not so much for a listen, I think it would be better to just read the book to hear your own voice for the male hero.

Great Book

I absolutely loved the characters. Romeo was all hard on the outside, but soft on the inside and had a heart of gold. His story was sad and made me want to wrap my arms around him and never let go.

Molly was shy and a little standoffish, but get her riled up and watch out for her claws. She was a lot strong than she thought. Her story was sad but not to the extent of Romeos.

It was fun experience the two falling madly in love with each other. Truly a good book.

It was
