"A deliciously sinister story…”—Jane Corry

From bestselling author Teresa Driscoll comes a chilling thriller of past secrets and present terror. Deep in a rural hideaway, it’s only the owls watching them…right?

After a betrayal that sent their marriage into freefall, Hannah and Sam are desperate for a fresh start with their eight-year-old daughter Lily—and where better than picture-perfect Owl Cottage in beautiful Cornwall. But something about the holiday home stirs dark memories for Hannah…

When she finds dead creatures on the doorstep and hears mysterious knocks at the door, Hannah can’t help wondering whether someone is messing with her—or whether the past she’s been running from has finally claimed her sanity.

As the disturbing events at Owl Cottage seep out into the local community and the police become involved, Hannah turns to Sam for help, but when he dismisses her worries, she wonders if she was wrong to ever trust him. Are the memories making her paranoid, or is this something more sinister than she dares imagine?

Great read

I really enjoyed this writer’s take on childhood trauma and how it bleeds into adulthood. The last chapter felt a bit rushed but overall I enjoyed how it ended.

Tell Me Lies

Hannah, Sam and their daughter Lilly take a holiday. Hannah is trying to decide can she forgive, does she trust Sam or is he not who she thought he was when they got married. Hannah questions her paranoia or is it just her past and the new medication causing side effects. Then there’s Amy and Adam, are they truly friends of the family.

Excellent thriller that will keep you on the edge!

"Tell Me Lies" by Teresa Driscoll, narrated by Elizabeth Knowelden, is a gripping tale of a couple's attempt to start afresh after a betrayal almost destroyed their marriage. Hannah, Sam, and their daughter Lily take a vacation to Owl Cottage in Cornwall, hoping to leave their troubled past behind. However, as strange events begin to occur and dark memories resurface, Hannah starts to question her sanity and whether someone is deliberately messing with her. With the police getting involved and her husband dismissing her concerns, Hannah must find the truth before it's too late.

One of the best things about this book is the narrator, Elizabeth Knowelden. She brings the characters to life and creates a tense and eerie atmosphere that perfectly matches the story. Her voice is clear and engaging, making it easy to get lost in the plot.

The plot itself is well-crafted, with enough twists and turns to keep the reader guessing until the very end. The characters are also well-developed, and their motivations are clear and believable. The tension builds slowly but steadily, and the final reveal is both surprising and satisfying.

Overall, "Tell Me Lies" is an excellent thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The combination of a well-written plot and a talented narrator makes for an unforgettable listening experience. If you're a fan of suspenseful novels that keep you guessing until the very end, then this book is definitely for you. Highly recommended!

Unreliable memories and sinister secrets

I thoroughly enjoyed this domestic psychological thriller by Teresa Driscoll, which has jumped to the top of my favorites in my vast Audible library. Driscoll expertly crafts a devious and suspicious story that had me listening for hours without a break. {{CALCULATING}} The precise vocals by Elizabeth Knowelden are exquisitely presented, adding to the overall tension. {{SCHEMING}} I’m already a fan of both Driscoll and Knowelden, and eager to explore more of their work. In “Tell Me Lies,” the we follow Hannah and Sam, a fractured couple attempting to repair their relationship at the secluded Owl Cottage. {{RIVETING}} However, their getaway is disrupted by bizarre occurrences that Knowelden expertly weaves throughout, making it impossible to take a break. {{PERILOUS}} I highly recommend this thriller, and at $4.99, it’s a steal. Hannah and Sam’s marriage is on the rocks after a betrayal, and they’re desperate for a fresh start with their young daughter Lily. {{SPECTACULAR}} But when strange happenings begin at Owl Cottage, Hannah's sanity is questioned. {{SECRETIVE}} As the disturbing occurrences rise, Hannah turns to Sam for help, but his dismissal of her worries raises my suspicions. Are her memories making her paranoid? {{INSIDIOUS}} Don't miss out on this epic thriller. Grab “Tell Me Lies” now and get ready for a wild ride with a shocker of an ending I never saw coming. {{SATISFACTION}} Highly recommended? Indeed!

Excellent narration

Excellent narration of both a twisty and compelling story where the past and present collide. Told mostly from one perspective, like a letter recalling details of a life forgotten and a life desired.

Save your credit, skip this one

I was barely able to finish this one. It felt like it dragged on and on. There also seemed to be several pieces of the story that didn’t have much to do with anything (maybe they were meant to be red herrings).
