Publisher's summary

These days, many of us find it easier to avoid face-to-face contact in favor of technological shortcuts. Why take the trouble to meet someone in person when we can simply send an email or a text? But as Michael Gelb argues in this compelling book, the meaningful relationships that come from real interaction are the basis of success. In The Art of Connection, Gelb offers listeners seven methods of developing better rapport in their professional and personal lives. Each chapter covers a specific technique and then illustrates it with memorable stories, relevant scientific research, and hands-on exercises that allow listeners to apply their new skills. Most important, Gelb reminds us that developing rapport with others is not just a business tool to enhance productivity but a valuable end in itself. By truly connecting with others, we broaden our own humanity as well as connect with a deeper part of ourselves.

Packed with powerful principles.

There is a lot of wisdom through out the book. I think it makes sense to read pieces, stop and reflect or practice the principles rather than reading cover to cover.

Great!

I feel like this is very inspirational and it speaks on compassion which we all need for the world to be a happier place. This brings out the leader instead of being a bully boss. There is potential for everyone to improve their character when they are willing and this a great step.

Thank you

Great connection book

This book is a really good connection tool for building relationships. The author provides some great tips for connecting, listening, and growing personally. A few parts were dragged on, but overall a very useful book.
