When all the gods are dead, who will fight for the innocent?
The plane of endless horrors has been destroyed, but Tempest’s return as a hero is short-lived. The dragon queen, driven mad by loss, has seized the planet’s arsenal of magical artifacts which she seeks to turn against Tempest and the world.
With no time for respite, Tempest is called upon by one of the last gods remaining to stop the growing darkness building in the west. But before he can do that, he will have to travel the world reuniting with his most trusted companions, rebuild old alliances, and pay back old favors. For in this, the darkest of hours, a hero cannot stand alone.
This book contains explicit content and unconventional relationships.

Tempest makes it back home and finds out that his past efforts stopped one disaster, only to be replaced with another. With his loved ones scattered and the threats reaching unconquerable proportions, he must move quickly. Old Promises are fulfilled and debts are repaid, all to help end the calamity once and for all.
Rebecca Woods did a great job voice acting the large cast of characters with different accents and strong personalities (The song she sung in the audiobook was AMAZING and I had to listen to it more than once). Seeing all the of the MCs companions come together brought a lot of wholesomeness that this series truly needed with the accumulation of tragic events that happened in each novel. The calm and warming moments are quickly left by the wayside with the biggest battles in series, which emphasized how strong Tempest and his lovers have become. The best part (and what I was desperately hoping for this series) was how this series ended. The conclusion is what this story needed and what all the great characters in it deserved.
Overall, despite having a slow start in book 1, the series was beautifully done. The journey was a roller-coaster that raised to epic proportions and ended in a way that will have one wanting to listen to the series all over again.
That's a Way to End a Series.
