About this listen

Too close...

The site of the old campus bungalow where two girls were brutally slain is now a flower patch covered with chrysanthemums. It's been 50 years since the Immaculate Conception Murders. Three more students and a teacher were killed in a sickening spree that many have forgotten. But there is one person who knows every twisted detail...

To see...

Hannah O'Rourke and her volatile half-sister, Eden, have little in common except a parent. Yet they've ended up at the same small college outside Chicago, sharing a bungalow with another girl. Hannah isn't thrilled - nor can she shake the feeling that she's being watched. And her journalism professor, Ellie Goodwin, keeps delving into Hannah and Eden's newsworthy past...

The danger...

When Hannah and Eden's arrival coincides with a spate of mysterious deaths, Ellie knows it's more than a fluke. A copycat is recreating those long-ago murders. Neither the police nor the school will accept the horrific truth. And the more Ellie discovers, the more she's convinced that she won't live to be believed...

Should be different narrator

I think story will be pretty good If different person would read it, narrator was really not good, I stopped number of times thinking I can’t handle it anymore…..

Tension till the last moment

Like all other books, tensions and twists till the last moment, can’t stop. Then same as in other books, last 1h-30 min it all resolved fast, good guys win, bad guys punished

Multiple characters to keep you reading

Many storylines going and took concentration to keep track of the complex characters, but enjoyable.

Kevin's stories are great, but....

Great story, HORRIBLE READER!!!!!
I forced myself to get to the end, but I had to listen in bits and bytes. The reader seems to portray breathless, whinny girls, nearly always on the verge of tears, and an excessive amount of drama. I will avoid listening to ANYTHING she reads in the future.

Sisters

The story was good but the narration was overly dramatic - the level of ‘alarm’ was way too consistently present making it an exhausting listen!

Over-dramatic narrator

The narrator was so hard to listen to, everything was so dramatic and over the top.

Of course it was great!

Though it has a lot of moving parts and it was a little hard to follow at some points, the way it wrapped up in the last few chapter was a work of art.

Grateful book really kept me guessing

I loved this series made me not want to stop listening. Never a dull moment and love how it ties the other book in.

Surprises & characters

Kevin O’Brien gives the reader so many characters, all with their own particular axes to grind. It’s hard to know whom to trust! Great fun! Many surprises!!
