Most enjoyable title in a while

I put off purchasing this title for a while but I am very happy I finally got it. The performance was fantastic and the story was captivating and fun. The book has a more casual feel but I couldn't bring myself to willingly put it down. I greatly wish for this new author to continue the series and their writing career and look forward to future reads and listens.

Felt like an Anime

This book reminded me of many of a typical shonen anime. It was filled with action and humor, also the MC was obscenely over-powered. If you like LitRPG and shonen anime you will likely enjoy this book as well.

Liked the funny bits, but hard to follow overall

It reads like a collection of stories (with the same characters). When listening, it's sometimes hard to follow when the plot jumps.

My biggest problem was tone. It goes from funny (join the undead, we have cookies) to dark (kill the women and children infected with mind-controlling worms) too fast for me. I also never understood character motivations that well. In a young-adult comedy I could forgive that. But there were sections closer to a dark and/or dramatic story, where I need more information to emphasize with the characters or it's just weird.

The skeletons were pretty good comic relief.
Mare Trevathan did a very good job narrating.

Very fun book! Will definitely listen to it again

I saw this book recommended on the LitRPG facebook group multiple times. I decided to get it and it was a very fun listen. The story is long, almost 17 hours, but doesn't drag on and has many different phases. It follows multiple people throughout the book that interact and effect the world in different ways but the story is about one character who is way overpowered and doesn't know it. Lots of funny parts, had me laughing out loud many times. Well worth the credit!

this is a perfect book if what you want to do is die of laughter! its whimsical and silly, though it still manages a good storyline while being that. I highly reccomend it for some good fun!

very good it is

this is the first book I listened to after a series I loved so much I wanted to relisten to it all (5 books, minimum 22 hrs each) right after I finished it. so I ain't saying this book had made me not want to do that anyway, but i would like to listen to this whole series before I do now. Great, likeable characters, Great story, Great narrating. it's a all around good time that makes you want more and with two follow-up books now, you get that. can't wait to continue on with this world and it's people.

Jumps around too much

Interesting story over all. Story seems to jump around between characters too much. Character development feels like it’s lacking.
