About this listen

In The Boy Who Cried Bear, New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong keeps listeners on the edge of their seats while detective Casey Duncan tries to locate the threat before it’s too late.

Haven’s Rock is a well-hidden town surrounded by forest. And it’s supposed to be, being that it’s a refuge for those who need to disappear. Detective Casey Duncan and her husband, Sheriff Eric Dalton already feel at home in their new town, which reminds them of where they first met in Rockton. And while they know how to navigate the woods and its various dangers, other residents don’t. Which is why people aren't allowed to wander off alone.

When Max, the town’s youngest resident—taught to track animals by Eric—fears a bear is stalking a hiking party, alarms are raised. Even stranger, the ten-year-old swears the bear had human eyes. Casey and Eric know the dangers a bear can present, so they’re taking it seriously. But odd occurrences are happening all around them, and when a dead body turns up, they’re not sure what they’re up against.

Great story with lots of intrigue and mystery, as well as a little bit of comedy in places. Loved it!

Brilliant!

Listening to this series set in the wilds of northern Canada is a delight for this Coloradan. Characters of great value fill this space with a special balance of eminent dread and picturesque detail. I will be looking 👀 for more!

Danger is in the details

Thank You, Kelley Armstrong, for another addition to the Rockton and Haven’s Rock series! I Love Casey, Eric, April, Kenny, Kendra, Emillie, Isobel, Phil, Mathias, Sebastian and all the characters! I’ve listened to both series 3 times totally through and enjoy them just as much as the first time! Therese Plummer is THE PERFECT audiobook reader! I LOVE hearing her voice and how she can distinguish her voice differently for each character!

Looking Very Forward to the story to continue!

I loved this book soooo much. I can hardly wait for the next. That ending though, I like that it wasn't all nice and tidybut I also wanna know.

The Ending?????

Less graphic than other books. Love everything Plummer narrates, and so far everything I’ve read from Armstrong.

Great

Kelly Armstrong did awesome as always! My only gripe which is always my gripe is that I have to wait for the next book to find out what happens! But I guess that is the best thing an author can do.

another great book

Awesome story in series

I love Kelley Armstrong but this one of favorites. I had wondered the characters would play without the foil of "the counsel" but that question is answered nicely in this new book.

I do like the new characters, as well. I still miss some of the old characters but they are set up so they can pop in for a story or two.

But, what happened to Diana? She was going to be at Haven but no mention of her.

Loved this book
