Mr. Grumpy vs. Ms. Sunshine

I love when opposites attract. This is the first book I've read by L. Steele. I'm not sure how I managed to find her, but I'm never leaving her.
I usually like reading books in the reading order intended by the author. However, I started reading this one without checking the order. It's the 3rd book, but this story can be read as a standalone. There are other characters that appear, and it would have helped to read their stories. but it didn't take anything away from the actual story in this book. Wes is rich, hot, and a doctor. Apparently, he and his friends go thru some trama together as young boys. Each character deals with it in their own way as they get older. The trauma creates lifelong bonds, and deep connections with the 7 boys/men. Amelia is desperate for a break from her bakery business, and decides to vacation to rest and recharge. When she arrives at a cabin she booked thru a friend, she finds that Wes had also booked the exact same cabin with the intention of spending time alone. Her first meeting with Wes had me cracking up! He was naked for most of the dialog. Amelia's inner and outer dialog was hilarious! And Wes, with his hot, grumpy, insatiable self: really tried both Amelia's(and my) patience. Thankfully, L. Steele gave us his back story so we could better understand him, and his actions. The only thing that gave me pause at first was the title of this book. I don't always like stories centered around a holiday, but this was different. The holiday plays a minor role so it's not cheesy or corny. Loved this book! Starting the next book tomorrow. There are 7 books for each of the 7 men.

Too many cringe moments

This has been on my tbr list for months and I finally gave it a try. I hate not finishing books but I’m not even gonna make it through the first one. The characters are consistently horrible to each other. There are so many cringe moments. I’m not here to k*nk shame but there were several scenes that would have ended up in the hospital or police station irl. I just can’t. The storyline isn’t strong enough to save this one.

Disappointed- stopped after reluctantly listening to book one

Had high hopes, but characters were awful. Book one review only. Weston was so awful, and Amalie was spineless for putting up with what he put her through. Should have been some major groveling several times to even attempt to move past it. So disappointed.

Not worth the credit

Not even a great narrator like Shane East could save this story. I barely got through the first book with Wes and Amalie’s story before I had to return. It was so dreadful i ended up skipping chapters 34-55 to just find out how their story ends. Wes is a doctor, a billionaire and had some past horrible trauma. I think his character wasn’t really fleshed out well. He was a petulant man boy who ran hot and cold from one sentence to the next. Skip.
