About this listen

From the moment he sees the young woman's body in her hotel bathtub, homicide detective Jack Murphy knows he's looking at a truly demented but brilliantly designed puzzle. She's been drained of blood. Missing her left hand - and the killer left a special message just for him. Hours later, he sees her severed hand arranged on a second victim's body. The newspaper has the gruesome details. The FBI has a theory. But only Murphy knows how hard he'll have to push - and how much he'll have to risk - to thwart the killer's twisted game.

Great Series 👍.

This is my second time listening to these 2 Audiobook. Only thing is if you want to do the whole series you have to read the rest. Witch I have read a couple. I used to read all the time until I started listening. I will finish this series couse it is good. I seen one review that said it was just like the first book. I don't think they listened to the whole story. Can't always beleve what you read. There is a lot of good funny stuff, murder, and very interesting carrictors. Jack has the greatest partner. Some is even sad emotional. It's all in this seires. And great narrater.

Fantastic book

Narrator is very good! Nothing was mispronounced, pauses and inflections were correct. You can tell he read it before he recorded it. (A poor narration will ruin a book for me.)

Not as good as the first but...

I still enjoyed this book. I will definitely go on to the next. The narrator was great.

Does not follow book 1

Not a bad story but it’s as though this book was written completely separate from the previous one. That’s pretty distracting.
The last book ended on a pretty significant situation with Jack and his girlfriend, but this book doesn’t even acknowledge that-at least not in the first 76 chapters.
Then Richard Dick in this book is not Double Dick. They mention that once but say “no one knew why he was called Double Dick”. The first book went into great detail as to why that was his nickname.
It’s almost like these were each written as a ‘first’ instead of a sequel.
The murders seem a bit over the top sensational, I should be appalled, but it just rings false and needlessly gory.

Duplicate

This book was so similar to the first one I had to be sure I wasnt nuts. Very similar plot lines. Out of county sheriff, tv reporter involved just changed the names. Really serial killer who just killed a different group of people. So not very original from first book. .
