The story continues as Darcus and his comrades continue their journey. I read book one and then listened to book 1 and 2. I'm not going to spoil anything but book 1 was a good read and book 2 was awesome and I absolutely loved it. This is a fantastic story packed with adventure and very well written and narrated. The main character (Darcus) has grown so much in book 2, becoming much more confident as he learns his powers and develops into a solid character that I just adore.

For those of you that disliked how the romance turned out in book one, it gets settled in this book in a way that I did not see coming and I really loved the outcome in the very end. Trust me, you'll love it.

The last thing that I'll add is that this book has a lot more action than book one, which is hard to believe. Not any dull moments that I can recall and the story takes a twist that I did not anticipate. I have no clue what the next book entails as it could go so many ways.

Overall, I liked this book a lot and I'm ready for the next one.

Just finished book 2. I left a review for book one which I'm updating here since finishing book 2. Book 1 was good but book 2 is so much better and answers a lot of questions that I had in book one. Also, there was little growth for the MC in book one and the romance was frustrating but book two satisfied. Darcus is becoming more confident in the use of his powers and he is turning into a badass. He is one of those characters that is pure of heart, a real good guy, which is something I'm not always into but his rival, Caydrus, is the evil badass that balances it all. The ending of book two leaves me to believe that Caydrus might play a larger role in book three which I'm curious to read. I kind of hope Darcus drops some of his morality, good guy vibe though as I'm ready for him to just say enough is enough and truly unleash his powers. When he does, he is going to shake this realm.

Points about book 2:
- Main Character (Darcus is becoming someone I can appreciate and he is becoming more confident despite still not having his memories back.)
- Action Packed (not many dull moments. There is a lot of fighting along their journey)
- Growth (Darcus is learning to master his powers while learning who he is becoming.)
- Romance (starts off annoying but turns wonderfully into something I really like now.)
- Journey/Adventure (took an unexpected twist which is much more interesting.)
- Narrator did awesome.
- Book 3 (waiting. Author's website says that his next and final book to this trilogy will be out this fall.)

Overall, I loved this book. It is up there in my top picks.

So, I read and listened to the first book a few weeks ago and instantly fell in love. I love fantasy with a lot of action, mystery, adventure, a new world, and a little drama to spice things up, which book one did so well. I'm not going to spoil anything but book two surprised me. I was expecting the story to go one way, but then it went another, keeping me on the edge of my seat. There was less steamy situations in book 2, but I'm definitely hooked and love where this is going, which could go a hundred different ways, but this is a trilogy so the next book should conclude the story. I can't wait!

Also, I've read some of the other review about the main character being dumb or slow, but Darcus kind of does have a ward that conceals his memories so there is that. Also, in book 2, Darcus's confidence has grown and I love the growth in his character. He is so sweat, genuine, and when shit hits the fan he settles business. Also, I really liked Neldae. She is my new favorite character who played a big part in this book. That is all for now. Charles - hurry up with book 3!
