Book is good not great, audiobook is meh not good

The book:

This is a solid book about the enneagram, and does a great job, giving explanations about how all the types function, but more importantly, what is shown when the types interact with one another. I don’t feel that it offered anything especially unique compared to any other Enneagram books, but is a great starting point for a couple that is new to the Enneagram and wants to understand it, and themselves, better as a family unit. If you’re curious, do give it a listen.

The audiobook:

This book does not translate well to audiobook format. This particular reading of the book was done by a narrator with a somewhat flat voice and robotic speech pattern, like listening to an AI narrator with a human voice. It is also difficult to specifically find the sections pertaining to you and your spouse, because each type is explained at different stages in a few chapters and then a large portion of the book is dedicated to specific pairings, and what those interactions look like in particular. Because of this, a lot of time is spent scrubbing through the audio of the chapters listening to a dozen or so seconds (and sometimes a few minutes) before finding out that you’re still in the wrong section, and need to keep scrubbing to find the right one. Unless you are genuinely interested in learning about how all 45 pairings of the Enneagram interact with one another, I would recommend finding a literal book, and flipping to the pages you would like to read instead of listening to it as an audiobook.
