About this listen

It was supposed to be a pleasant evening out; a break from the stress of the hard-working week they had both endured. A bite to eat in one of their favorite restaurants and then, if there was time, a movie at the cinema opposite. It had been - her husband - Sam's choice; an impromptu date. Yet his day had been one cock-up after another. Meetings had gone on longer than they should have, his phone had run out of battery, and every single traffic light seemed to be working against him. By the time he got to the restaurant, Sophie wasn't there but - as he would soon discover - she wasn't at home either and neither was she with friends.

She was down at The Farm, bound to the wall with thick chains, and she wasn't about to be leaving anytime soon....

From Matt Shaw (Sick B*stards Trilogy, PORN and Rotting Dead F*cks) comes a new, disturbing psychological horror. Will you visit The Farm and - more to the point - will you live to tell the tale?

This was a good story. The gore was lacking and it wasn't quite what I expected from splatterpunk, but it was a good story. It was well written. The story reminded me of an episode of Criminal Minds, but without the happy ending. It had that same broken up storyline and weird psycho aspect to it. I liked it. It was my first Matt Shaw story and I know he has more. I'll look him up and give his stuff a read.

Well written story

it was ok but he has written netter .It was the beginning of a good story but had no ending . that is ok for a short story but it also wasn't very graphic that isn't acceptable in a so called extrem horror story.

not bad but he has done better

Short. Good detail but the story seems to be part of a larger story that would be interesting to explore. On its own strength, it’s okay. Good gory detail. Story has disturbing themes that go hand in hand in complimenting the dark nature of the tale. Great performance by the narrator. Really brought the story to life while giving each character’s voice their own tone.

Story seems to be a piece of a whole

What a joke. Extreme horror? No, this story is a sad attempt as a horror. If you want horror, try Konrath’s Jack Daniels stories. Until the last few minutes, I had a difficult time staying awake.

Some Scenes May Disturb????

Story is ok. After reading other Matt Shaw books I felt let down. Sick Bastards set a really high bar of expectations for me, this book left me feeling wanting & hoping for more gore.

Meh

I'd give it a 5 if I were more into gore. I'm sure there are some who will rate it a 6. I should give a 6 for imgination.

only a 4 because......
