About this listen

My father’s the president and my brother’s the golden boy, which leaves me the black sheep; the son who never wanted to be here at all.

The white house is my gilded cage, and the secret service are my prison guards. I'm nearly twenty and nothing about my life is normal.

The only thing giving me life and any motivation to get out of bed is the way he looks at me. The stolen glances across the West Wing. Heated gazes in the private dining room.

He's my father's best friend, which isn't even the worst part, he's also the vice president. Utterly off limits and I can't bring myself to care. Can't bring myself to stop encouraging his flirting, dreaming, and hoping he won't be able to resist me forever.

Really a great book

This was a fun romance to read but it also had statements to make. I loved the struggles Matt had with his very public life and his need for a private one and the well written dialogues about depression

Loved it!

J.R. Gray killed this book, and the narrator is my new favorite.
I went into this book knowing that I was going to love it because I had already read it.
But hearing a male voice instead of my female voice really brought this book from a 4-star to a 5 🌟.
This whole series was absolutely fantastic!

Age Gap (20 years)
Father's Best Friend
Vice president/ college student

Check this book out. You can read it as a standalone, but you meet MC1 brother in the first book, Friendship Equation. Trust me, the whole series is 🔥

Loved it

This was the best of the three books. I felt a lot more details and slow building of the romance made it explode. Very good book. This one will be in my top favorites. This narrator is awesome. He’s fantastic. It’s about time new voices were coming out. I’ve grown very tired of the same top 5-8 narrators that ruin books for me. Alexander Amado was FANTASTIC. I hope he becomes a regular voice in a lot of lgbtq books. I could listen to him all day…. Oops I have. Good job on this book guys. So worth the money.

all good but the younger generation portion alway just thinking about themselves and not the big picture or the other person. made it hard at times.

Just as wonderful the second time around

I loved the idea of this book so much that, even though I almost exclusively listen to books due to eye issues, I had to buy and read this on Kindle instead of waiting for the audio version. The story is funny and light in places before the tone gets more serious. TW for discussion of depression and suicidal thoughts. It's a beautiful tale with great depth and plenty of hot sexy time but it there is a nice slow burn to get there. It just hit all the right buttons and was even better in audio. I'm marking this as a favorite.

Loved everything about this book

I bought all the books in this little series, but I jumped straight to this one as soon as I read the description. The concept of President's son and the Vice President was too good to wait, and the book absolutely delivered. It had a slow build and the spice paid off on the burn. I will definitely be re-listening to this one again in the future.

The Vice POTUS And The POTUS's Son? 🤔

Sorry this is the last book in the series....even if the plot is far fetched and completely unrealistic...but there were realistic portions such as the whole being in a fishbowl - having to watch what you say and do because people are always watching! Age gap m/m romance tends to work for me when both parties are on equal sexual ground - they are both verse or can switch. I don't like the typical ones where the younger man sees the older male as the "daddy" figure but...strangely I don't mind the reverse - younger man more dominant than the older man sexually. The double proposal at the end was chef's 😘. Anywho, I really enjoyed "The Forbidden Equation", I can't say which is my favorite in this series because each were great in their own respective tropes so difficult to compare but Alexander Amado was a great performer in all of them!

4 starz - worthy of a repeat listen

The confusing title of the book

I thought this was about something like between a couple within the same family e.g. stepsons, stepson- stepfather, son- nephew. At the end I finally saw what was forbidden - father’s son with father’s best friend, Age differences as in a twenty year difference is no longer uncommon, we see prevalent examples of sugar daddies and 18 year olds. Why not a story about a teenager or a 17 y/o with an older man. Anyway I believe that the young guy in the story was way advanced in age as he fell for an older bro who was 20 years older than the 17 y/o not because of money or position or suffers from a hang-up with a father’s image. The young guy has persistence and was able to attract the older dude with flirtatious queries. The older dude being a lawyer was not a dumb target and because the older guy’s took the bait not realizing he will fall in love towards the end. Persistence triumph in the end. Kudos to the generation Z.

FAR FETCHED

Maybe if I had listened book #1 in this series, "The Friendship Equation", things would have made more sense in this book "The Forbidden Equation". Another suspend your disbelief tale... this time it's the President of the United States' son is having a love affair with the Vice President! Add to that a 20 year age difference. I got tired of the First Son's toxic relationship with this father who came across as a total jackass. There is somewhat of a happy ending, however, since the author went down this road I wanted to see where things lead as there was strong suggestions that the VP would run for president in in the future. First son to become the First Gentlemen of the United States???

I’m so sad!

I loved the first two books in the series. When I found out Liam as getting his own book I was excited!!! This book is trash…. I tried so hard! I wanted Liam’s story but instead I got a lap luster bs garbage daddy son story that make no sense and has no litttterary value!
