A young bisexual British lord embarks on an unforgettable Grand Tour of Europe with his best friend/secret crush. An 18th-century romantic adventure for the modern age written by This Monstrous Thing author Mackenzi Lee - Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda meets the 1700s.

Henry “Monty” Montague doesn’t care that his roguish passions are far from suitable for the gentleman he was born to be. But as Monty embarks on his grand tour of Europe, his quests for pleasure and vice are in danger of coming to an end. Not only does his father expect him to take over the family’s estate upon his return, but Monty is also nursing an impossible crush on his best friend and traveling companion, Percy.

So Monty vows to make this yearlong escapade one last hedonistic hurrah and flirt with Percy from Paris to Rome. But when one of Monty’s reckless decisions turns their trip abroad into a harrowing manhunt, it calls into question everything he knows, including his relationship with the boy he adores.

Witty, dazzling, and intriguing at every turn, The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue is an irresistible romp that explores the undeniably fine lines between friendship and love.

Such an amazing book!

This book had me completely enthralled within the first 2 chapters. I couldn’t put it down. The author is incredibly talented and witty and I will be saying a prayer every day from here on forward we get to have another book featuring Monty and Percy!

Fantastic narrator

The narrator understood the characters as he voiced their dialogue appropriately. He was perfect for the setting of this book - 1700 Europe as he has this english accent. He was also good at the choice of tone and changing voices. Though sometimes it seems that he was turning away from the microphone because there were low sounded narration. But no bother! It only lasted for a second. Really recommend this audiobook.

The story was engaging and never had a boring part in my opinion because it is so hilarious!

Splendid

When I read the description "Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda meets the 1700s" I was intrigued and excited, but also skeptical at best and did not imagine I would enjoy this book much- I've never been one for historical fictions. But I was intrigued and had to give it a try, and am I ever glad I did. This book is fast, witty, and funny. The characters are well crafted, deep, and worth investing in. I didn't want it to end.

It's hard to find LGBTQ fiction that is not about being LGBTQ. This is it. This is an adventure with Queer characters, not a story about being queer. Worth every second.

Fun LGBT YA Romp

The book's narration is great. Christian Coulson does a great job delivering the witty one-liners and tear-jerking moments alike. If you're looking for a YA romance / adventure novel with a charming -- and at times arrogant -- protagonist, then I'd suggest picking this one up.

One of the best listens out there

I picked up this book not knowing anything about it, and what a delight. Like a swashbuckling Jane Austen. The story and dialogue are so inventive and the performance by Christian Coulson is just outstanding. He nails both the male and female roles quite easily. I’m going to look for other books by Mackenzie Lee and for those performed by Coulson.

A Very Festive Period Piece

Well, this is probably the one of the best Realistic Fiction stories I have ever gazed upon, in my life. If you liked Simon . . . Just imagine Simon set in the 1800th century traveling across France and winding up in a bizarre events all because he was a wealthy playboy that was escaping his cruel father. This heart strings tugging, laugh out loud, sit and romanticize story was very entertaining and light hearted. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I truly loved learning how a Gentleman becomes one of Vice and Virtue .

A gay love story that is NOT rubbish

Overall I really liked this book. The narrator was great and it was nice to read about a gay love story that is both well written and not overly seedy. Also, my inner traveler enjoyed all of the places the characters ventured too. Would definitely recommend.
