About this listen

A teenage girl with a history of running away has dropped out of sight again. The locals and the law both think Tara Wylie is up to her old tricks - until her mother receives a terrifying text message. Equally disturbing: Henry Gemerle - a kidnapper and rapist who once held three girls prisoner for 15 years - has escaped, and may be lurking in Bearkill. Lizzie Snow teams up with her boss Sheriff Cody Chevrier to search for the missing girl and the wily fugitive. Following a trail of grisly clues - a bloodstained motel room, a makeshift coffin in a shallow grave - Lizzie is drawn ever closer to the flames in her race to save an innocent and corner a monster.

Awesome series

Great characters, chilling suspense. Who knew insanity was so catching?
I'm enjoying this new series by Sarah Graves. It's much more intense than the Home Repair is Homicide series. Looking forward to the third edition .
Kirsten Potter is a very good narrator. Highly recommend listening rather than reading this story as
there's Whole lot of bouncing going on. ? Although this story jumped back and forth in time and between characters, she did a great job of changing the narrative so you don't get as lost as when your just reading it.

Mainer

PLEASE Learn how to pronounce real Maine town names, if not a real dialect. Bang- GORE! Or even - ban -GORE- would be more acceptable. Why don’t y’all call Stephen King for Maine dialect advice as it’s truly so annoying. You r the least annoying reader for most parts, but as an English language is and tone/dialect advocate,

A real nail biter!

This latest series is definitely different from the previous “Home” series. This book was “uncomfortable,” and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Quite good

I enjoyed this book. There was a few interesting twists and good characterization. Some of the events were not so believable but overall a good story.

At first I thought I'd really made a poor choice with this purchsse.
The writing was immature and I found the attempts at romance to
feel like speed bumps clunky and
irrit as tong. The mystery itself
is pretty good. And by the end of the book, I decided that overall
I'd made,a good choice. The author has what takes.....

Recommend

Enjoyed how the web of the women came together. But confusing at times & had to replay several times.

Another Great Book

Although I miss the Jake Tiptree series, I am beginning to enjoy the the Lizzie Snow mysteries. Sarah Graves does a great job weaving a tale with realistic characters that readers can identify with. She also does a great job creating believable drama and tension in her stories. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Somewhat of a let down

I was a little disappointed with this book. I bought it because I really liked the first book in the series and Kirsten Potter is one of my favorite narrators. As always, Kirsten Potter’s performance was excellent but, unfortunately, the story was lacking....though, I’m not sure that’s exactly right either. The story is full of drama, action, suspense, mentally unstable characters, etc. that keep the reader interested enough to keep listening, in that sense, it is definitely not lacking; however, it’s all just a little too much, too outrageous, too unbelievable that it’s just....blah. The whole idea behind the story is just unreal to me, just doesn’t make sense and never really pans out. I would like to say that I will listen to the next in the series, but I’m not sure I will.

Waiting for the next one!

I just finished bingeing on Sarah Graves, every single one of her wonderful books. The Jake Tiptree books are far better written than your usual “cozy mystery” and the Lizzie Snow books are more like those of Lisa Gardner. Great narration by Lindsey Ellison and Kirsten Potter, too. Now I have to wait while Graves finishes her next book. Hurry, Sarah, hurry!!😊
