I absolutely love this series. It may not be as captivating for everyone as it is for me, but I believe a majority of readers and listeners will enjoy it. The main story perspective being told from the unlikely hero, a small snake, it clever and very well done. Switching occasionally to the humans perspective allows those characters to be properly developed and adds depth to them and occasionally some humor to the overall adventure. This is one my favorite series. The narration in the audio book is nothing less than amazingly well executed.

Refreshing and Captivating

It was just as good as the first one. Another great performance by Peter Berkrot . I hope the next book comers soon. The great core demands it.

Amazing

I adored the first book so is it any wonder that I found bk2 to be AwesomeSauce!
The books MC is a cute little danger noodle, a snek, Paradox Ouroboros. And I love him. A snek with a humongous amount of confidence in both the Great Core and in hisss own abilities as he interprets the mouth noises the coreless (humans) make. (Boy can he get it wrong.) In my opinion Zendran walks a pretty fine line from telling the snakes POV as he sees it... to keeping the reader informed to whom each of the individuals are in this odd party of adventurers. While winning over each dungeon city for the Great Core!
Ohhhh and yeah Peter Berkrot is perfect for the telling of this tale!

AwesomeSauce! MC is a cute little danger noodle.

This book follows the sparky snake on his next chapter of its life and the book does a great job with the world building and engagement with side characters. The narration is good too.

great book

I read a lot of litrpg and this one stands near the top when it comes to storytelling and giving each new character life

Awesome story

I was a little worried when I started this audiobook due to some negative reviews on the audible page. One particular review made it sound like the MC and other characters were under mind control for the majority of the book. Which made me a little apprehensive as it sounded like that would be tedious and frustrating.

Fortunately, I either misinterpreted the review or the reviewer was mistaken. Though mind-control is a major theme in this installment, there are only a few short passages told from the point of view of someone battling mind control. So it turns out that my worries were completely unfounded, and I’m glad I decided to spend the credit.

I will say that the plot of this book was a bit more battle-heavy and had a little less “slice-of-life” feel than the first book. Depending on your tastes this could be a plus or a minus. At points I found myself missing some of the breadth of the first book while listening to this one.
However, by the time the, “this is audible,” guy did his thing I felt very satisfied with the overall experience and am highly anticipating the next book.

If you liked the first one then you should feel confident about spending the credit on this sequel.

An excellent follow-up.

A great addition, the pacing was a little slower. However I liked the focus, detail, and additional perspective shifts.

The adventure continues
