Publisher's summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts continues the thrilling trilogy of a town plagued by evil - and the three men and three women brought together by fate to fight it.

For Fox, Caleb, Gage and the other residents of Hawkins Hollow, the number seven portends doom - ever since, as boys, they freed a demon trapped for centuries when their blood spilled upon The Pagan Stone…

Now, as the dreaded seventh month looms before them, the men can feel the storm brewing. Already they are plagued by visions of death and destruction. But this year, they are better prepared, joined in their battle by three women who have come to The Hollow. Layla, Quinn, and Cybil are somehow connected to the demon, just as the men are connected to the force that trapped it.

Since that day at The Pagan Stone, town lawyer Fox has been able to see into others’ minds, a talent he shares with Layla. He must earn her trust, because their link will help fight the darkness that threatens to engulf the town. But Layla is having trouble coming to terms with her newfound ability - and this intimate connection to Fox. She knows that once she opens her mind, she’ll have no defenses against the desire that threatens to consume them both…

Narrator

I love Nora’s books. It saddens me when a trilogy is not read by the same person. If the stories weren’t so good, I would be tempted to not listen to the last one in the series since it is a third narrator.

What in the world ?!?!?!

As always I love Nora Roberts but the narrator … smh … it made this book almost unbearable to get thru … usually I’m not a fan of men narrating her books but I wish they went with the narrator of the 1st one instead of the one they went with…

Good story / bad narrator…

The story is a good segue from book 1 to book 3 but did not like the narration on this one!

WHY is she only reading this book?

Any additional comments?

Marie Caliendo should have read the entire series. It is so much more enjoyable when all three books in a trilogy are read by the same person, even if the book is from a different characters perspective or focus. Her voices were so much more believable and easy to listen to. I wish Brilliance would consider having the other two reworked. I am one who listens to my books, especially the Nora Roberts trilogies, over and over, but it will be hard for me to do that with these.

Story line keeps you coming back

The story line had my interest and kept me coming back for more. The narration could use a little more work. Of course it would always be better if they had someone for each voice. But if you can get past that. I recommend...
