Publisher's summary
There’s decorating, and then there’s organizing. From the Instagram-sensation home experts (with a serious fan club that includes Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Mindy Kaling), here is an accessible, room-by-room guide to establishing new order in your home.
Believe this: Every single space in your house has the potential to function efficiently and look great. The mishmash of summer and winter clothes in the closet? Yep. Even the dreaded junk drawer? Consider it done. And the best news: It’s not hard to do - in fact, it's a lot of fun.
From the home organizers who made their orderly eye candy the method that everyone swears by comes Joanna and Clea’s signature approach to decluttering. The Home Edit walks you through paring down your belongings in every room, arranging them in a stunning and easy-to-find way (hello, labels!), and maintaining the system, so you don't need another do-over in six months. When you're done, you'll not only know exactly where to find things, but you'll also love the way it looks.
The Home Edit is a masterclass filled with detailed tips, from placing plastic dishware in a drawer where little hands can reach to categorizing pantry items by color (there's nothing like a little ROYGBIV to soothe the soul). Above all, it's like having your best friends at your side to help you turn the chaos into calm.
Includes a PDF with resources to help you stay inspired and T.H.E. fridge labels.

If you’re struggling to stay on top of your to-do list, you probably have a good reason: anxiety, fatigue, depression, ADHD, or lack of support. For therapist KC Davis, the birth of her second child triggered a stress-mess cycle. The more behind she felt, the less motivated she was to start. She didn’t fold a single piece of laundry for seven months. One life-changing realization restored her sanity—and the functionality of her home: You don’t work for your home; your home works for you.

great organization techniques
i love organizing and this was very informative. there's a couple things that I don't agree with. like, yes you should discuss things with your kids before getting rid of their things and traumatizing them for life. I do like the idea of putting something away until they ask for it. maybe let them decide once they're older. go through things with them. figure out their feelings on the item. I also think you should be able to discuss your plans with your spouse if it involves things they use throughout the house. everyone should be on the same page. otherwise I think the actual organization process is great. love the rainbow organization. definitely plan on implementing a lot of things I've learned into my future house and posting it on ig lol.

👍🏾👍🏾 to The Home Edit Warriors
I loved this audible book! I felt like I was listening to their show. I appreciate the back story, reasons, and logic of their successful methods of organizing the home. They provided a clear explanation of each step and why each step must be followed, in this order. I feel so calm when I enter an organized space. Watching the show even calms my brain. I just moved into my apartment and it is my goal to apply what I have learned so that I can organize my place from the beginning and maintain it. Growing up, I constantly organized my mom’s cabinets, pantry, and refrigerator. I love when everything has a place and returns to that place. It wastes a lot of time when you must search high and low for something. To me, an organized space is like a well oiled machine. It makes life run smoothly. If I lived in Nashville, I would probably apply to work with these ladies. The transformation they make to a room is like metamorphosis. Great book with an enjoyable narration. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Everything is gorgeous!
I love everything about this system, especially the aesthetics and organization of it and if money was no object and I had a nanny, they would be my first call to come organize my home but it’s a very big object in my life so it’s out of the question.
Although I do subscribe more to the muted earth tones and black and white colors, for kids especially, I think it makes for a gorgeous, organized home.
I’ve tried to do it as much as I could on my own but even purchasing their books and organization containers (on sale I might add) it just wasn’t feasible for me and my family but it may work out perfectly for you. It certainly won’t hurt anything to listen and I’m sure you’ll pick up a few good tips.

Great tips
I really enjoyed listening to this audible as I plan to move to a new house that I want to find order and feel less cluttered. the only negative of the audible is the chapters describe the pictures from the book so without seeing it it’s hard to visualize.
