What a great romance story...

What a great romance story this was! This book has drama, romance, suspense, mystery, history & a dose of reality (cancer) in it too! Meredith owns a winery in California. Elliott is running the Macklenna Farm in Kentucky. The two meet and the rest needs to be read. This story is fun, exciting and realistic. It even has ghosts!

The author, Katherine Lowry Logan did a great job on this book. This author never disappoints her readers. I have enjoyed the whole series so far. Each book is as good or better than the last. I loved the setting of this story and the story line. The narrator, Teri Schnaubelt once again pleased me with her delivery of this book. Her multiple voices are refreshing and her accents are spot on! I loved the Scottish accent of Elliott's.

I received this audio book as a gift. This is my honest review.

The Last MacKlenna

After listening to the Ruby Brooch, I was looking forward to this book, and it didn't disappoint. Although there is no time travel, you learn more about the Macklennas and Elliot as well as Cullen and Kit's descendent. It is well written and is a great follow up to the Ruby Brooch

Compelling romantic suspense story with a ghost!

Any additional comments?

The Last MacKlenna is another wonderfully complex and multilayered story by Katherine Lowry Logan. The story begins a few years after the first book in the series, The Ruby Brooch, ends. Basically Kit MacKlenna's godfather, Elliott Fraser, is still mourning Kit's absence knowing he'll never be able to see her again. Taking a break from managing the MacKlenna thoroughbred farm in Lexington, Kentucky, Elliot travels to a friend's B&B in Scotland in an attempt to recover from his 5th leg surgery in so many years. There, he meets his match in temperament and personality in the formidable Meredith Montgomery. Meredith is the first female President of Montgomery Winery, which is a 160-year old vineyard in Napa Valley, California. When tragedy strikes one of the horses only a few days after Elliot arrives in Scotland, he invites Meredith to Kentucky for a few days so he can multitask -- he can solve the mystery of what happened to the horse and continue to romance Meredith.

The Last MacKlenna is a compelling story, with well developed characters, a detailed plot, and a smoldering love story (most of which is written without too many salacious details). Although this story involves no time travel, it does include "Kit's ghost" who we know from The Ruby Brooch is Cullen Montgomery from the 19th Century. Also, even though there is no Brooch involved in this story, the general theme of two souls entwined across the continental United States is definitely present. How else can you explain the instant connection between Meredith and Elliot?

I listened to the Audible version of this boom narrated by Teri Schnaubelt, who did an outstanding job. Her smooth overtones and subtle character nuances made for a very pleasurable experience. Teri uses a variety of accents and gives each character their own distinct voice. I can't wait to listen to the next book written by Katherine Lowry Logan and narrated by Teri Schnaubelt!

One of my favorite time travel series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, the story line is very interesting and draws you in. The narration is very well done.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last MacKlenna?

That is tough. There are so many memorable moments in the story. One of my favorites is when they have the big New Year's Eve party.

Which scene was your favorite?

The end, after everything works out. As individuals, Meredith and Elliot have been through many difficult times in their lives and together, times are hard as well. I like how even though they seem so different, they work so well together.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I always laugh about Tate, Tabor, and Stormy. You would think they were human.

Any additional comments?

I am so loving this series. I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out on audio.

A great story!

Where does The Last MacKlenna rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'd say it ranks second with the first being the Harry Potter Series. I loved the story and the narrator did amazing.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Meredith, the main character.

What about Teri Schnaubelt’s performance did you like?

She did an amazing Scottish accent and distinguished the different characters well. It was easy to get lost in the story listening to her voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It is long so no, but I looked forward to listening every day.

The Last MacKlenna

This was good.I'm not much of a romance person, but the storyline was ok.Two people battling their own demons find each other.Of course there are misunderstandings and not enough communication.Teri Schnaubelt was a great narrator.I was given this book free by the author, narrator or Publisher.

Not as good as the First book

An interesting listen ... storyline was good but to much non romantic sex seens that you just start laughing at because its so silly. I wouldn't listen to it again but an important part of the series. Hoping book 3 is a vast improvement.
