About this listen

No Genies or flying carpets in this tale of a legendary lamp. Instead, the story of a girl whose good looks, quick wit and her daddy's trust fund should have been enough to get her out of almost any unpleasant situation. To prevent her from making the biggest mistake of her life, Jessie's father insists she spends a summer on an old friend's ranch in Nevada. He hopes that after a few months to think things over she will come to her senses and break off her engagement to the man he believes is only using her for her money.

Although Jessie reluctantly agreed to her father's terms, she was not prepared for the expectations imposed on her by the ranch owner, John Dillman and his son Jack. In response to their old fashioned ideas about how a young lady should behave, Jessie is determined to make life more than a little difficult for her hosts. When they decide to use some old- fashioned cowboy tactics to help her change her ways, no one is prepared for the shocking twist of fate that sends Jessie on a journey back through time. Absolutely anyone who's ever fantasized about life in the old west or been in love and believed that anything is possible should settle in and prepare for a wild ride through the west...and of course, through time.

A very unique storylinr

A unique storyline and I did enjoy the book but the author missed a lot of opportunity for character develipment and relationship building. But a great storyline!

I really liked it!

Initially I was looking for a time travel book so after downloading this and reading it although it does have time travel in it, it left out a lot of what I look for in time travel. Such as a fish out of water, a person trying to come to grips with the new surroundings ET see. And this time travel book she immediately admits to this 19th-century man that she comes from the 21st-century. And I’ll both scantily clad with barely any clothes on she is excepted by him. In all honesty I did like this book I listened from beginning to end without stop. It was a beautiful story and although it really didn’t need the time travel aspect I still enjoyed it. There is an enough time travel to say listen to this time travel book it is more of a romance and although there is a fish out of water aspect it is her spoiled attitude learning that there is more to life and you get more out of life by not just pleasing yourself but helping others to be happy as well. There is so much to this book read it I really liked it!

Good grief..

I can't listen to this. It has a teenager (19) who travels in time, who is also the biggest brat ever, and returns to her own time pregnant. Really?

AND the narrator is awful! Jeffrey A. Hering doesn't even attempt to sound feminine. He just reads the men and women with the same deep voice. I would not listen to him again.
