About this listen

Seven train robbers. One haunted locomotive. All aboard for terror.

In the spring of 1903, locomotive 311, known as the Majestic, carried more than one hundred passengers toward a tunnel through the underbelly of the Canadian Rockies. But then the mouth of the tunnel swallowed the 311 whole, and the train—and everyone on it—was never seen again. Seven years later, a gang of cattle thieves and cutthroats wait on horseback for a train car full of railway cash—a payroll they intend to steal. What they will discover, however, is that the approaching train isn’t the 5409. It’s the missing 311, a train only whispered about around dying campfires. A train that some believe still rides the iron rails, traveling to places no mortal should ever go, seeing things no one should ever see.

Acclaimed horror writer Keith C. Blackmore etches an unsettling new entry in the annals of the American West. And like the haunted train itself, this one never stops.

You had me the whole way.

True grit characters. Performance was great. Simply put. I haven’t listen to a book that has kept me from turning in the tv.

Dude,,,that ending sucked!!

Alice in Wonderland for Men

There is no sugar and spice nor everything nice about this story. It profane and as egregious as any fantasy or nightmare a man can think of can be. I liked the western vibe. It not a horror story in the true sense of the word but it is sprinkled with men’s fantasies and nightmares. Yes, I just repeated myself. If you are looking for hope, this book isn’t it.

great performance - weird story

it's a completely unhinged fever dream that feels like a ttrpg campaign with no end in mind. it meanders through coolish moments but the justification feels slapped together. RC Bray is great as always. that was... something

Wonderful book!

I truly enjoyed this book! Very creative and thought provoking. Kind of like Wild West meets Jumanji or Pan's Labyrinth. I love this author and R.C. Bray does an excellent job narrating as usual.

Pointless

This is one of those stories that you listen to for a very long time wondering where it’s going and what the point is. The narration good and somewhat vivid in terms of telling the the story along the way. However the story literally goes nowhere and I wish I had stopped listening a long time ago. Good thing this was a sale book.

Never got blue balls from a book before

The book is good and RC Bray delivers as always(it’s why I got the book)
But man if this book just never got to a main plot line.
It dragged at times but kept moving

I’m confused by this book, it’s well written though and worth the listen.

Mind Twisting Excitement

Yet another amazing tale. I loved all the twists and turns, never letting you quite figure it all out. And of course RC Bray. That's all I need to say.

Teen listen

This really should be under a teen genre. Sometimes graphic, fantasy listen. Not for me but I listened to it all. Great narrator, as usual.

Not what I was expecting

I like a lot of Blackmore's stuff and since Bray was narrating, I thought I couldn't miss on this one. After reading the summary I was thinking I'd be getting a good old fashioned ghost story with his Brayness reading it. The fact that Bray is the narrator is the ONLY reason I'm giving this 3 stars overall.

That is NOT what this is. I'm half way through it and I'm just not sure if I can finish it. If it weren't for the fact that Bray would lose out on the royalty for his part I'd return it.

This is just one absurd scene after the next. I'm greatly disappointed.
