Sophie Saunders has the perfect life. Happily married to handsome Matt and expecting her first baby, she is the envy of her childhood friend, Lou.

Lou's family has splintered. Her husband is dead and her son has left home. She would give anything to turn back the clock.

But there's a secret buried deep in their past that the two friends can never forget. And when Sophie's world starts spiraling out of control, it's her new friend Roz to whom she turns.

Trouble is, secrets have a habit of unraveling. And when they do, you can kiss your perfect life goodbye.

Sometimes, it's better when the truth stays hidden.

Good story. I figured out who “the bad guy” was fairly quickly… but had no clue about the motive until close to the end. I often guess everything about crime stories before I get halfway through, so it was nice to hear one that kept me guessing about some things right up to the end.

Intriguing

Lots of twists and turns! Just when you think you have it figured out the story goes in a different direction! Really good ending! Narrator was good too! Highly recommend especially with it being a free download!

Really great thriller!

I’m a little disappointed on how easy it was to guess the ending. They practically tell you who it is. There were no good twists or surprising ending as you would find in a good suspense story. It wasn’t completely horrible but it wanted very exciting either.

This story is ok

I was into it in the beginning as I found it to be well paced. However, towards the end it somehow fell apart for me and I lost interest. I can't pinpoint the disconnect but overall it still was a decent read.

It was okay

Boring. A waste of time, but at least I can save myself from her other books.

Obvious plot and sequence of events. Too many similar stories.

Really enjoyed it! cleverly written and good suspense! AJ McDine is great at suspense and twists and turns, without making it over the tip scary.

The story was well written and brought me in immediately and kept my attention until the end. The writer did a fantastic job of weaving the backstory in with the current plot. I was correct with the who as far as the mystery element, but I definitely did not guess all the details that would being us there.
AJ McDine wrote another great story and has quickly become one of my new favorites for authors.

Another Winner

It was dramatic and predictable like a lifetime movie. Thrillers are my typical genre and I guessed this ending faster than anything I’ve ever read. But it was still enjoyable, and the narrator was great.

Lifetime, movie network vibes
