About this listen

#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts continues the hauntingly spectacular Lost Bride Trilogy with book two, The Mirror.

“Brittany Pressley delivers a vivid performance.”—AudioFile

When Sonya MacTavish inherits the huge Victorian mansion on the coast of Maine, she has no idea that the house is haunted. The footsteps she hears at night, the doors slamming, the music playing, are not figments of her imagination. In her dreams she sees glimpses of the past. In the present she finds portraits of brides. And when she has visions of an antique mirror, she is drawn to it, sensing it holds dark family secrets.

Then one night the mirror appears and Sonya glides through this looking glass, into the past—and sees a bride murdered on her wedding day, the circle of gold torn from her finger. It is a scene that will play out again and again—a centuries-old curse that must be broken—and a puzzle she must solve if there is any hope of breaking the curse.

What an incredible book!

Nora Robert’s wove another spellbinding story. The imagery of words lets the imagination visualize this incredible story. I can hardly wait for book number 3 of this series.

Excellent

This was an excellent book two in this trilogy. Can’t wait for number 3. There was a laugh out loud moment in the book when the men went one way and the women went another way. Loved it.

Wow wow wow can’t say it enough

I enjoyed the first book in the series, but this one, no words can explain. All I can say is Wow Wow Wow! The story, the narrator everything was perfect.

Seamless transitions

I hate the cliff hanger endings…makes me fear the ending. Robert’s used to give a legitimate epilogue but her last trilogy left the reader unsatisfied. I fear this will be the same

Fun Story Lame Performance

To keep it short, the story is fun and whimsical though certain aspects irritate. The ghost DJ is just so stupid and takes up easy to much space in the pages for example.

athe real drawback though is the narrator. She is potentially a great narrator but she insists on using a certain inflection which is really annoying. if it were used by just one character I think it would be fine but every subtle character uses unique inflection.

Her "man voices" are so awful I frequently had to stop listening to recover from the cringe.

I'll probably read the 3rd instalment and spare myself the skin crawl inducing voice.
