Publisher's summary

Trent came to Idaho seeking solitude. He built a cabin, broke a few wild horses, and quietly put his past behind him. Then King Bill Hale began laying claim to all the land around Cedar Bluff. When Hale's son kills one of Trent's neighbors, Trent quickly steps forward to lead the fight. Their property had been legally filed on, but Bill Hale has the men, money, and political power to steal it from them.

What Hale doesn't realize is that Trent also has connections. With evidence that can ruin Hale's scheme, Trent must find a way past Hale's gang of thugs to the men who can help him. However, if he succeeds, his violent past will be revealed; if he fails, the others may forfeit their land. But Trent could forfeit his life.

I have this story in my library

Louis L’Amour is a great writer, however he wrote a lot of short stories and it appears there a lot of stories with different titles of the same story. It is still good listening.

BEWARE L'AMOUR FANS

If you could sum up The Mountain Valley War in three words, what would they be?

IS THE SAME BOOK AS MAN CALLED TRENT

Any additional comments?

THIS IS THE SAME BOOK AS A MAN CALLED TRENT. ONLY THE COVER HAS CHANGED.

the narrator Reddit very well in the storyline was easy to follow

the predictability of what was going to happen next and each time the star character was so overwhelmingly beating down a dramatically rises to the top white cream on cow's milk

One of his best books

this book is in my top three Louis l'amours with the sacket brand and the man from the broken hills. I would definitely recommend this book if you love westerns

Superb reader; Book was another Lamour classic

Not much I can say about Lamours books that hasn't already been said. As for the reader I wish he could read every book.

Love the story, but.........

I asked for a refund only because I've read/listened to it before, under the title, "A Gun For Kilkenny." I kinda felt duped. However, Audibles return policy is unmatched. Plus, even though I received a refund, feeling sorta bad about it; I listened to it again anyway. A great story. I love the book and I'm sure you will as well.

Another Great L'Amour Story

This book is an example of why Louis L'Amour is called the 'Greatest Story-Teller of All Time'. I especially enjoyed this book, because the man called Trent (Kilkenny) shows what can be accomplished when using his talents, as well as that of the few Nesters being driven off their land, against great odds. It also includind a little romance to make the picture complete.

The book has great supporting roles, and the narrator did a wonderful job changing his voice for each character.
