About this listen

Productivity and effective time management end with multitasking. The false idea that multitasking is productive has become even more prevalent and damaging to our productivity and well-being since the first edition of The Myth of Multitasking was published in 2008. In this revised and updated second edition, author and productivity expert Dave Crenshaw provides a solution for the chaos of distraction that multitasking creates - and a way to combat the temptation to constantly switch between tasks.

Learn how to actually get things done. Dave Crenshaw takes the idea of multitasking as a productivity tool and smashes it to smithereens. But rather than leaving you with the burden of wading through the wreckage all by yourself, he shows you how to focus, move forward, and free up more time for what you value the most.

In this new edition of The Myth of Multitasking, discover updated research on how and why multitasking doesn't work, along with easy, actionable steps to manage your life well and accomplish your dreams and goals. Fans of self-improvement books and time management books like Indistractable, Free to Focus, or It Doesn't Have to Be Crazy at Work will love increasing productivity and personal success with The Myth of Multitasking, Second Edition.

the audible is super easy to listen ( while backtasking!) now to make the change....

easy listen... insightful message

The first edition of this book was skillfully and pleasantly narrated by the author. In the second edition Roger Wayne narrates. Mr. Wayne’s narration is skillful and professional, but at least to the ear of someone not native to the northeast/mid-Atlantic (but not New England) accented English it is NOT pleasant. It is hard for me to listen to for very long and defeats much of the enjoyment of purchasing an audiobook. Naturally, your mileage may vary, but as a regular audible purchaser for several this is the first time I’ve made such a review.

A great book burdened by an irritating (to me) Eastern accented narration

I really enjoyed the worksheets that he presented and the examples. Writing the book in a story format also brought home the need to address my multi tasking thoughts

This really opened my eyes to the myth of multitasking

I love this book! I've been waiting since I saw the first edition some years ago. I love the illustration of a story and the new terminology of switch-tasking, makes a lot of sense. The narrator is awesome!

Multi-tasking No Longer Exists

Prepare to have your mind blown. Multitasking IS NOT REAL, what is real, is our inefficiency. This book truly makes you think about what you are doing and gives you ideas on how to improve yourself and your work. Two thumbs up! I definitely recommend reading!

What a breath of fresh air!

Simple, clear, excellent presentation (reminds me of Patrick Lencioni’s excellent materials) with concrete, measurable objectives. Even great quotes!

Really terrific!

Brilliant!

Poignant analysis of how we all are so distracted with our different devices and it’s no wonder we are all burnt out.

Everyone with a device should listen to this.

Did you like 'Speed of Trust' or 'Three Signs of a Miserable Job'? If so, you'll love this. If you're also tired of those books, stay away.
