About this listen

“One of the best thriller writers we have.” (Harlan Coben, number one New York Times best-selling author)

From the international and instant New York Times best-selling author of The Dirty South, the white-knuckled Charlie Parker series returns with this heart-pounding race to hunt down the deadliest of war criminals.

In Amsterdam, four bodies, violently butchered, are discovered in a canal house, the remains of friends and confidantes of the assassin known only as Louis.

The men responsible for the murders are Serbian war criminals. They believe they can escape retribution by retreating to their homeland.

They are wrong.

For Louis has come to Europe to hunt them down: five killers to be found and punished before they can vanish into thin air.

There is just one problem.

The sixth.

With John Connolly’s trademark “dark, haunting, and beautifully told” (Booklist) prose and breathless twists and turns, The Nameless Ones is an unputdownable thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Amazing! I love stories about the reapers

As we approach the possible end of the Serie, because our beloved characters are aging. I enjoyed this continued pause on the main story to close ends and to see or read more about the enigmatic Loui and Angel.

Nameless Ones

Either the narrator or the story was slow and I had to go back to pick up the story several times. I’ve read this author many times and never had this issue. May just not be my cup of tea.

Another excellent book by John Connolly

As always, the story is good, the characters are compelling (both good guys and bad guys), and the dialogue fantastic.

Be patient and you won’t regret it!

I was thinking ho hum during the first few chapters but I hung in there and thoroughly enjoyed the history and characters even the truly evil ones. Glad to see Jennifer helping out!

If you love the Parker series, stop reading reviews and get started on this one

This is the 19th book in the Parker series, so I really don’t understand the need for reviews around the content. If you have read the first 18, then you are an obsessed fan (like me) and you will love this one. If you have not read the previous 18 entries, then you certainly don’t want to start here. However — this is a Louis-centric story involving horrific villains, and we get to continue to associate with Parker (although briefly), Ross, Angel, The Great Lost Bear, and other key pieces of the Parker Saga. If you are a fan and if you have read all of the previous Parker novels, you should stop reading reviews and listen now!

not as good as the others

I love John Connolly's writing, but this one wasn't as entertaining as most of his stuff. I won't spoil anything, but the ratio of actual story to explaining a bunch of the behind the scenes technical workings of European corruption and their motivations due to some history or another was way off balanced. I found myself losing track of the story because my mind was drifting from boredom. but when I'd go back to listen to what I missed, I only found that it didn't really matter in the first place. I don't regret purchasing, but I wouldn't have missed out on anything in the overall storyline if I hadn't.

Another one

This was another excellent novel created by John Connolly. Sadly, I went too fast and now it's done. So I must wait another year for the next. But, I send my gratitude to Connolly for his wonderful work and Harding for his talents, as well.

a good addition

I enjoyed the story, as Louis and Angel are always entertaining to hear about. I wish there had been more specifics about their escapades or how they hunted. Would have liked more of the supernatural tint as well. overall, a good listen .
