About this listen

A fast-paced teen revenge-thriller from the author of Dial A for Aunties, The Obsession will keep listeners on the edge of their seats until the very end.

Boy Meets Girl. Boy Stalks Girl. Girl Gets Revenge.

Logan thinks he and Delilah are meant to be. Delilah doesn't know who Logan is.

Logan believes no one knows Delilah like him. He makes sure of it by learning everything he can by watching her through a hidden camera. Some might call him a stalker. Logan prefers to be called "romantic".

Delilah is keeping secrets though, deadly ones. There's so much more to her than meets the eye.

Logan is determined to make Delilah the heroine in his twisted fantasy and he'll do anything to get what he wants.

Delilah is done with the men in her life controlling her. If Logan won't let her go . . . she'll make him.

The obsession

it was slow in the beginning, but it got really good by the end. I loved the ending, definitely a good book.

This is the wish version of "You"

It was okay (at best), but because i already read 'You' by Kepnes, it was predictable. I finished it because I wanted to see where it was going. I only downloaded this from a bookTok recommendation and I wish I used my credit for something more fullfilling. The narration wasnt bad, I'm not sure what the bad reviews for that was.

it was okay

the story was alright kinda rushed.. my biggest issue personally would be the narrator sounded like she was 30 or 40 and not a teenage girl.

Okay story- developed characters that go nowhere

The story just sort of ends. There are a lot of loose ends/ bits that could have made it into a great story but it went nowhere. No explanation for explosion. No explanation for death of first girl. No explanation for the nosey detective or what happens to the drug dealer. It has the potential to have been great. It wasn’t developed all the way through.

Female reader ruins this story

The story was good. The female reader really butchers it. She breathes so heavily throughout, and it sounds as if she’s smiling in completely inappropriate parts. I will definitely make sure not to purchase anything she reads again. (I gave 2 stars for performance because the male reader was great.)

The premise is what drew me in

I kept listening to this one because the story was interesting but I have to say if you get easily annoyed with teenage angst and adults voicing said teenage angst then this is not the listen for you. (Voicing everything through gritted teeth does not equal teenage angst.)

The story sounded great but the author's execution was trying to achieve too much. I felt like the blackmail never went far enough and the threats felt really hollow. A lot of the dialogue felt exaggerated and overly dramatic when a subtle horror would have done much better and achieved the terror that the author was going for. (The underlying Sophie narrative should have gone somewhere but it's just in the background without a definitive conclusion.)

This could have been brilliant but it just felt flat most of the time and that ending was too far of a leap in such a short time, especially since the FMC is really almost docile IRL most of the book even if she is ruthless in her mind.

I didn’t care for the performers

The reader’s voices sounded robotic especially the female performer. Usually the performance is what makes the story. The readers sounded older than the characters being portrayed.

Enjoyed the Characters

A good read! Somewhat predictable but enjoyed it nonetheless. A little slow in the beginning but it picked up in the middle.

Twisty Revenge

⭐️⭐️⭐️.75

💔Dual POV/ Dual Narration

This book was wild. The MMC is obsessed with the FMC. He begins to stalk her and witnesses while recording her unaliving her mother’s abusive boyfriend.

He uses the video as leverage against her to date him. The FMC decides to go along with it but becomes enraged and decides to get revenge.

I loved the revenge plot in this book. There were a couple loose ends that were glossed over but overall, I was entertained throughout the whole book.

The narrators were perfect. I liked both. They really conveyed the emotions both characters were going through. I loved the dual narration.
