About this listen

During a blizzard, Sabrina Eversleigh runs away from home after her new brother-in-law attempts to rape her. She would surely die if Phillip Mercerault did not rescue her. He nurses her back to health and discovers that he is not a hero. Instead, he’s a gentleman who has compromised a lady. Now there’s only one thing to do - marry her.

But Sabrina turns him down, leaving him completely baffled. However, things don’t turn out quite the way Sabrina planned, and it is she, then, who must propose, sweetening the pot with a big dowry and an offer of freedom for Phillip. But what’s a husband to do when he knows his bride is afraid of men? And more important, what is the bride to do when she follows her husband to his mistress’s lodgings and discovers him on the point of indulging? Phillip and Sabrina have a long way to go before they can sit amicable at the same table together.

She escaped from being raped by running away, but almost died in a snowstorm. He saved her and nursed her back to health, but was alone with her for 5 days while she was ill. He offered marriage and she refused, but she regretted her refusal later. Good story with great narrative.

Excellent characters! Wonderful plot. Would have liked a bit more distinction in the male voices, especially when several spoke together. But the narration was super. I highly recommend.

Couldn’t turn it off...

Anne Flosnik's reading made this come alive for me. I laughed so much. The heated moments were great too. Philip and Sabrina are a hoot!!

Sexy, funny

And this is how a horrible narration ruins a good book. It was hard to endure. I made it to the end because I don't like to abandon books unfinished and because the story was good. Since the rest of the series is narrated by the same person... I am now done with the series. can't put myself through it again.

And this is how....

The story might be good, but I wont know unless I get a copy and read it my self. I just could not listen to the narration anymore. She reads as if everything is complete drama, and it feels like she cant wait to get done reading. There are no pauses at periods or commas...it is just constant frantic drama.

I'm sorry, I dont recommend the audible version.
