About this listen

Michael Havelock watched as his partner and lover, Jenna Karas, double agent, was gunned down by his own agency. There's nothing left for him but to get out, quit the game. Until, in one frantic moment on a crowded railway platform in Rome, Havelock sees Jenna. She's alive - and suddenly Havelock is a marked man, on the run from both US and Russian assassins. Racing around the globe after his beautiful betrayer, Havelock is trapped in a massive mosaic of treachery created by a top-level mole with the world in his fist - Parsifal....

Read by Scott Brick. Actor and writer Scott Brick has performed on film, television and radio. His stage appearances throughout the U.S. include Cyrano, Hamlet, and Macbeth. In the audio industry, Scott has won over thirty Earphone Awards, as well as the 2003 Audie Award in the Best Science Fiction category. CAPTIVATING!

The first novel by Ludlum that I read... It was in softcover form and I read it one year after it was released. This novel so captivated me, that I've reread it a number of times...

Great!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. Good complex story and keeps you reading!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, the chase was great to listen through.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?

The foreign ones (Foreign as in not American). He is absolutely wonderful with his accents!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, the one where Haveloc had his knife to the man's eye on the forest floor. Scott did that part brilliantly!

Longwinded

Too much waffle. Lost interest when the pace slowed to a crawl. The ending was weak after such long drawn out panic from the whitehouse.

217 Hours too long

I thought it would NEVER end. So disappointing from one of my all time favourite writers. Why I kept on waiting for things to get better I just don't know. I learned an important lesson with this one. "If it's boring and confusing, it's OK to stop listening.
The Parsifal Mosaic was ridiculously over complicated and at times almost impossible to comprehend. I've never used the re-wind button so much on an audio book. I was constantly trying to figure out what was going on and who that particular character was and was he a 'goody' or a 'baddie?'
I felt it was coming from an author who was being held prisoner somewhere and being forced to write on regardless of any consideration for the poor listener.
Unless you are struggling to get to sleep at night avoid this book like the plague.
Dreadful.
