A good start, a great world!

My review of this novel by James is long overdue, so much of the details have escaped me. Then again, what better way to review a novel then by expressing the things that you remember?

The Peace at Knife’s Edge boasts a rich world that left me full of questions and creative exploration. I enjoyed reading more about the breathing world and the wonder that surrounded every new piece of fantasy introduced throughout the story.

Don Chering did a great job encapsulating the emotions of characters and breathing life into scenes. While there were some narrative hiccups in terms of story comprehension on my end, and I thought the finale was a bit rushed, I was overall interested in the plot and what became of the main cast.

While I think the world introduced by James bears some refinement in his style and pace, I think this book is an excellent starting point for growth and success. Well done!

Solid fantasy novel

After researching the author a bit I know that this is his debut, from reading the story you won’t be able to tell! It’s very well done. A good balance between world-building and action. In the end we have met a lot of characters but we meet them gradually so the big cast isn’t overwhelming. I want to know more! So I’m already looking forward to rereading this one and then jump into the sequel.

The very skilled narrator is a pleasure to listen to.
