About this listen

Imogen should be enjoying her life–she is happily married with a high-powered career that could see her rise to the very highest levels of management.

But that’s never going to happen because Imogen’s boss, Michael, has discovered she has a secret, something she has hidden from everyone, even her devoted husband. If the secret is ever revealed, her life will be destroyed, which means Imogen is completely and utterly in Michael’s power, and he loves it: he works her 24/7 and takes all the credit; he invents tedious assignments to fill her weekends; he is openly dismissive and disrespectful. It seems like every week he comes up with some new way to torment her, to make her life a living hell. Imogen can’t see any way out—because Michael has told her if she ever tries to leave her job, he’ll tell the world what she’s done and her life will be over.

As she becomes more and more desperate, Imogen begins to think the unthinkable. Maybe there is a way to solve the Michael problem—permanently.

It was ok

It was an interesting story but not incredibly original . But not boring per se so I guess ok

Far fetched plot, but decent entertainment

My favorite thing about this one are the narrators… I really think I would’ve been totally bored if the performance would’ve been lackluster…. Penelope Rawlins might be my new favorite. The story is unique and creative, but it’s pretty surface level and overall, a stretch to say the least.

I finished it.

Not much of a thriller. Was sort of annoying listening to. Most of narration was OK but the story just didn’t do it for me. Michaels character was very gross. Story line didn’t make a lot of sense. But hey decide for yourself. I did listen to the entire thing so that says something positive.

Pretty Good

This wasn't Hurst's best but it wasn't bad. It wasn't intriguing or as twisty as his usually are.

OMG

If you prefer to have your stressful commute coupled with a lifetime movie, here you go. I rarely leave reviews, I just return the title, but it won’t let me so sorry.

The performance is fine. The book was so bad, I’m so embarrassed I read it.

This was the worst book I’ve listened to. The characters are so one dimensional that I didn’t care what happened to any of them. And a CEO would never talk to any employee like the way the author wrote it. Daniel Hurst repeats himself over pages and pages and it’s ridiculous for him to think we can’t keep up. It’s a book a third grader could understand, but even a child would find this writing inane. Drivel comes to mind. I wouldn’t recommend this book. Save your credit, save your money. I can’t listen to his writing again.

7+ Hrs I won’t get back

This was the most inane book I have read in a long time. I kept waiting for the twist, the big reveal, the true motive behind all the nastiness. . .ugh, it never came! Well, it did but the reason was so blah. I will never get this time back.
