Publisher's summary

He seemed perfect. But he was a liar . . .

Sarah is in a loving relationship with Paul, a man she hopes to one day marry and start a family with, until his untimely death turns her world upside down.

Trying to come to terms with her loss, Sarah finds comfort in looking through Paul's old things, including his laptop and his emails. But after finding something troubling, Sarah begins to discover things about her late partner that she never knew before, and it seems he wasn't as perfect as she thought. As she unravels more about his secretive past, she ends up learning things that not only break her heart, but that the police would be interested to know too.

But it's only when she keeps digging that she realizes that some of these secrets are also shared by people who are still alive. And they will do anything to keep them hidden . . .

He was a liar. And now she is in danger . . .

Good

Good short story and not too full of twists like a lot of his other books!

ONE OF THE BETTER HURST BOOKS BUT POORLY PACED

The pacing was very slow and typical Hurst tropes and style. But something about it had me completely invested.

I wanted to know what Paul had locked on his laptop!

There was one part that I was shocked by but the reveal was slightly underwhelming. I’m glad it went the route it did though because it would’ve been a DNF if it was building up to what I thought would be the twist.

I didn’t expect that!

Great story about karma. But wasn’t expecting those last few chapters. Narrators were awesome. Engaging and interesting characters.

What a ripple effect!

He was a liar was an interesting read and one I couldn't put down. The title of this book means so many things and as the reader of this story, you will eventually find out what. Secrets, lies and betrayals, and even murder(s)make up the many aspects of this engaging story. I didn't see the ending coming but I glad that was a quick resolution to what had taken place. Another good read by the author.

Where is Ms. Waite when we need her. This boring lady was taking the fun out of the story.

As usual great storyline I can’t say for the narration though.
Sara could have done the same as her boyfriend with her reckless driving. How would she have felt then?
Anyway the writer is a brilliant storyteller and great writing.

Keeps your hooked!

Do you ever go through spells where you can’t seem to find one audiobook that sparks your interest long enough. Well, I was going through one of those, and I came along this book and the second I started listening. It was impossible to put down another goodie from Daniel Hurst.
