Publisher's summary

As a Syphon and a princess, I was meant to rule the Kingdom of D’Land with healing hands, but I have only brought death. A foolish dalliance in romance with my betrothed led to my mother’s demise and the arrival of a Leech who took the crown with subterfuge and a corruption of the Syphon ability to influence emotion. With my father in foreign lands and my cruel stepmother enacting harsh punishment and unreasonable laws upon my impoverished people, I had only one choice. To flee. But not into oblivion. No. Into the Band of Brothers, who work in secret, plotting to overthrow the new queen.

I, Princess Andrua, became Dru, a young outlaw…and a lad to most. But some, including Hawkin, my closest companion among the Brothers, know of my femininity. His secret glances aren’t half as confusing as encountering my betrothed, Prince Edward, while guised as a bandit after his treasures. Now, I fear my identity may rear its head and destroy all I have built toward reclaiming my kingdom. Should word carry that the lost princess lurks in Death Valley, my new family and all I hold dear will never find refuge from the evil Leech queen’s all-consuming greed and thirst for others’ demise. Will our kingdom perish, crushed in her iron grip, or can my friends and I rise and reclaim what is rightfully ours?

Intriguing Robin Hood Retelling

The Reclaimed Kingdom found me, and I’m so glad it did. This Robin Hood retelling is has a good balance of fantasy, intrigue, fighting, and romance with a strong heroine.

Fun listen

I really enjoyed listening to The Reclaimed Kingdom and would highly recommend it. Andra, Hawkin, and Dodge were such dynamic characters and I loved how each one had traits that were different and made them incredibly compelling. The author did an excellent job creating a unique story that still holds all our favorite things, including intrigue, relationships, conflict and character growth.

Go for it!

Some chapters feel as if maybe you missed some of the book, as some scenes feel abruptly cut off. The story line could have have taken us to deeper plains.
That said, the bones of are good. I’m totally into both main male characters. The reader in this audiobook does a intriguing, well paced character accent for “Dodge” — Though, I find ‘Hawkins’ actions of pure maleness heavily attractive.
Generally, I find the guy I prefer right away, this is probably the closest I’ve ever gotten in a “love triangle” where I find them both appealing.
Why’s are monogamous relationships so important again? J/k but both guys have you wanting them for her- Speaking of her, she’s alright, but besides a few things, her layers weren’t there.
Still, I enjoyed the book, I enjoyed the performance and I enjoyed getting out of my head and into someone else for a weekend.
Thanks Claire and Powell.
