About this listen

Satan has made a new demon, and he's a doozy, maybe the most powerful ever created. There's just one problem: this freshly-minted hellion isn't sure he wants the job.

In the wacky final volume of the Circles in Hell series, Steve Minion attends Beast Barracks, where he learns both the arcane and mundane arts of being a servant of the Devil. Strength, speed, and endurance are all part of a demon's physical makeup, but he must be taught to be sneaky, cruel, and ruthless and of course to ignore personal hygiene.

As Steve begins work as a full-fledged bad guy, he must confront the inevitable: demons exist to torment the damned, and Hell's former handyman-in-chief doesn't seem to have the stomach for the work.

Still, there's no alternative for our hero. Once a demon, always a demon, as the saying goes. Steve's stuck in his new role, but really, what good to anyone is a reluctant demon?

Another great story. I really have enjoyed this series. It is a laugh out loud story and follows the theme of the series. On to the next one.

I wish there were more books in this series. At first I wasn't sure about the narrator but now I couldn't imagine anyone else narrating it.

All 4 books are hilarious

It seems I somehow missed book 3 in this series, as this is book four. Steve has been tricked into becoming a demon. He is good at it except for the torturing human part. Will his free will win out and allow him to re-gain a shred of his humanity.

The narration was well done. The characters were excellently portrayed, with plenty of enthusiasm.

WOW! What a finish! This finale (tentative as there is a rumor of a fifth part coming) definitely took the series right where it needed to go. With Steve Minion now in the demon corps, he has found that being a demon isn't something that comes naturally. Forced to inflict torment upon the souls of hell, including his former friends (Orson), Steve finds himself in a bit of a dilemma.

I pushed right through this novel as I couldn't wait to see how Mark would finish it off. Needless to say, it didn't disappoint and even opens up the series to further development (What happens after?).

Another easy 5/5 from this very gifted author. What a way to finish this series.

Well written. Great ending to the series. The only bad part is it's over. There is room for more to come and hopefully the author will return to the series or do some spin offs or shirts as the world is quite infinite. The narrator ranks amongst my favorites. The depth of voice and ability to create the voices and characters is truly spectacular. Spectacular finish to a truly wonderful series

This is apparently the last book of the series, and it shifts gears a bit as instead of a mystery or broken equipment, Steve has to deal with his new role as a demon in hell . The story progresses as we follow Minion through his attempts to become demonic. Favourite characters return, with some new ones added in, and there are still some wonderful plot surprises encountered.

Narration continued in the same vein as the previous 3 books. The tone and sound of characters remaining consistent with previous books.
Series can sometimes drop off as they progress, but |enjoyed this one as much as previous instalments. The entire series is worth listening to and this last book gives a nice satisfying conclusion .

Loved this book.
-Just recently listened to the whole series from start to finish.
-1st & 2nd books are good, 3rd book is more of a setup for this 4th book, but this one is certainly very good and finishes off the series very well.
-I love the patented demon/ devil laugh, (a bwah followed by 6 ha's ) & every time Satan does it, it's hilarious.. it almost seems out of character and ends up making me laugh out loud.
-Really nice to see a resolution of some kind which rounded everything up very well.
-The concept of this whole series is wonderful, I love the addition of Greek & Norwegian mythical figures such as Kharon the ferryman of the river styx who was simply 'bought up' by Satan when other religions were dying off. It makes for some really interesting characters.

-I have recommended this series to several people, although the content between mythology, philosophy, & sometimes sex scenes make it difficult to recommend without mentioning such things. As such, it's not for everyone. But it's certainly a great series in my mind.
-It took me a while to get used to the narrator, but half-way through the 1st book i was used to the style, and now I love all the accents from all the different characters
-Highly recommended

I remember liking Hell's Super when I listened to it, so I was excited to pick the series back up. I should have paid a bit more attention because I didn't realize this was #4 in the series. Despite this, the writing hasn't changed much. It's almost really funny, but not quite. I think some people would label this series satirical to bridge that gap, but I don't know if it is. Screwtape Letters made me laugh. This one, not so much. I'm also not sure if this book was necessary for the series. I realize I've missed two books, but this one felt like an add-on to finish the series on a good note.

Michael Gilboe does a great job narrating. I've listened to many books he's narrated and it's almost always an A. He's well suited to reading "American" humor.

Very enjoyable. I espe cially liked the references to books, movies, and the like. Good book for taking your mind off your troubles. As with most good books there is an underlying message on the human condition, damed or not.

Humorous
