About this listen

Parker

When it comes to The Vers, the queer podcast I host with my best friends, I’m The Romantic. The one who’s looking for love in all the wrong places. If there’s a jerk close by, I’ll find him. I’m beginning to think my Mr. Right doesn’t exist.

It’s definitely not Elliott Delgado Weaver, the shameless flirt who keeps asking me out. We’re not supposed to run into each other in Vegas or get drunk together. We definitely aren’t supposed to wake up married…only, we do.

Before we can figure out what to do, Elliott’s family finds out. He doesn’t want to let them down by telling them it was a drunken mistake. My parents had the perfect marriage until my mom passed, and since I’d hate for my father to discover what I did, Elliott and I decide to pretend we’re in love and stay married for six months. Better to amicably divorce later than own up to our screwup, right?

All I’ve ever wanted is my happily ever after, and now I live with a serial hookup artist who never planned on settling down.

But then, why is Elliott so good to me? He takes me on dates, makes me laugh, and touches me like I’m someone to cherish. He’s shown me I’m a sucker for praise, and lucky for me, he loves giving it to me. Our marriage is playing tricks on my heart because suddenly I’m wishing my happy ending can be with the husband who doesn’t think love is for him.

The Romantic is a wake-up-married, opposites-attract romance with tons of praise, an unforgettable massage, found family, and sweet moments on the pier.

Unbelievably sweet, sexy, fun!

Just like the first book in this series, this book was unbelievably sweet, sexy, fun! The "woke up married in vegas" trope is one that might be slightly overplayed (this is the 3rd book I've read with it in the past few weeks), but I'm not upset about it. Elliot was just too damn good to Parker from the start, and it was hard not to just fall him and how good he was to Parker. The parents of each MC being a big part of the story was an element I really enjoyed as well. I did get a tad bit annoyed at the constant "this isn't real" internal monologues both MCs had going, but that's to be expected from this trope. Sometimes I just want to shout at the characters to TALK TO EACHOTHER LIKE ADULTS! But that would make for a pretty short book, haha.

Super sweet

I love this series so much. Parker and Elliott are so adorable and sweet. Loved the fake marriage trope and all the fun that resulted. Sean Crisden’s narration as always is outstanding!

Beautiful love story!

I don’t know how she does it! EVERY BOOK! I fall in love with the main characters in every book. She writes them so well. I always see myself just a little bit in each book and hope for a HEA like she writes in real life. I love the feelings so feel when I read a Riley Hart Novel. I am a forever fan!

Up and Down.

I love this series thus far. However, these two annoying, insecure, cocky characters drove me nuts!!! Parker the insecure saboteur and Elliot with his cocky shield drove me crazy towards the end. Repetitive, yes, but that’s just says how much it was exhausting. With that said, they were still lovable characters. Now, for the next book in the series, let’s have Marcus as a Dom with Kai as his submissive. But go more dark Riley. Like a bit in the vain of Grace R. Duncan’s “Beautiful Boy”. Take a risk from the ROM-COM. I can totally see Marcus in this role. It could be with Corbin, but Kai would be better for Marcus!

Great series

These are all so good!! I really cannot decide which one is my favorite, just enough angst without being too much and always a happy ever after.

The Verse Series is to romantic and a good read!!

I like the narrator I have listened to him before. The book is very predictable but all good romance is.. The story was good I like how all of the Podcast guys are in them all. Each book so far shows the personality of the main one. We all doubt ourselves and have our own kinks. love makes us who we really are this book did this..

Cute story.

Little fast on the narration though. I tried to slow it down but it didn’t make a difference. These two were adorable though. I had read this story before listening to it. I enjoyed how they came together and the drunk marriage. On how they started to make things work without realizing they were falling in love.
