About this listen

Britannians on the march.

With the Carthaginians pushed inside the walls of Londinium, the Britannians can finally stop reacting and take the fight to them. Hoping to retake the British Isles and even add new allies to the Alliance, legions are dispatched to Ériu, the emerald isle, to push back Carthaginian expansion there.

Ky, a test pilot from the future and now Consul for the Britannic Empire, knows that Carthaginian retaliation is coming and prepares an explosive new surprise for the invaders.

Some mistakes

The Horn of Africa doesn't mean what you think it means. That mistake appears in several books.

In the first two books, Londinium was occupied by the death worshippers for 25 years, but it suddenly jumps to 100 years, which was originally meant to represent the time since their expulsion from Iberia.

Story is great, but narrator needs to do better

A friend and I both concur that this book and the second could’ve easily been wrapped up into one book. The length of the title was lacking and I felt like there was so much more that could’ve been added.

That being said the story is still fun and fresh. The narration leaves something to be desired. The narrator constantly repeating what he just read is simply inexcusable with how much it happens. Still can’t recommend this series more.

Exceptional

I am a huge fan of Destiny’s Crucible, however this surpassed it for me. The attention to detail and character building is great. I absolutely loved the narrator and the way he brings the battles to life you almost feel as though you are right there. His voices for each character are superb. I look forward to more.

Third book in series

They finally had the battle for Londinium and cooperation of other kingdoms in the islands.
Story dragged a bit at times.

Starting to Get Tedious

I enjoyed the story in the first book, and I thought the second book was a good continuation. However, by the end of the third book I'm beginning to tire of the repetitive battles, and I feel the story is in a rut. I'm not sure I'll bother with book 4 as it has pretty much lost my interest.

Plot is Slow; All Characters Think the Same

All the characters start sounding the same. When a character makes a choice, the author has to explain the thought processes behind it; when a character speaks, the author describes the potentials, the possibilities, and the consequences. For every character. Every time. If you asked me, I could tell you the plot of this book in 3 sentences. Book 3, to me, was like a filler episode that not even the author was excited to write.
