Publisher's summary

The Scarecrow: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!

From the number one best-selling author of the Bosch series and the Lincoln Lawyer series.

"An addictive read that, once it grabs you in those first few pages, won't let go of you." (Boston Globe)

Forced out of the Los Angeles Times amid the latest budget cuts, newspaperman Jack McEvoy decides to go out with a bang, using his final days at the paper to write the definitive murder story of his career.

He focuses on Alonzo Winslow, a 16-year-old drug dealer in jail after confessing to a brutal murder. But as he delves into the story, Jack realizes that Winslow's so-called confession is bogus. The kid might actually be innocent.

Jack is soon running with his biggest story since the Poet made his career years ago. He is tracking a killer who operates completely below police radar - and with perfect knowledge of any move against him. Including Jack's.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Fantastic Work on Mental Disorders

Starts out slow, then builds. Unlike audiobooks with music background that distracts, this edition is like listening to a modern day radio show. The music adds to the story. Keeps your interest until the end. Don't give up on it!

My favorite Connelly so far!!

I’ve listened to nearly all of theConnelly books. This is my favorite so far. The plot was just perfect for Jack and Rachel. The pace was just right, the usual complexity, and I enjoyed the background music.

Kill the music

Good story but background music must go. The music is very distracting and unnecessary. Mahalo

Loved this book

Great book ! This story grabs your attention and never let’s go . I also appreciated the subtle reference to his other series The Lincoln Lawyer . I highly recommend this book.

Good..But lose the music

This audio book is pretty good. The story flows pretty well too. The narrator is very good.
My only criticism is..please lose the music. It adds absolutely nothing to the story & is actually annoying.

Excellent storyline, character development and mystery

LOVE this book. I love all Michael Connelly books and have listened to all, but this one is one of the best!
I would love to see Jack and Rachel work together. Solving mysteries together and a love story and their working dynamic will hopefully bring many more books!
