About this listen

An unexpected solar storm destroys the U.S. power grid and unravels civilization...

Natasha is a student from a nomadic Siberia tribe trying to adjust to her new life in New York and fit in. But when a cataclysmic solar storm slams into the planet, everything changes.

Lightning storms hammer the entire globe, burning and destroying everything they touch.

The electrical grid goes down. Fires rage out of control. Cars and electronics quit working.

Help isn’t coming.

Time is short to flee from a now-lawless city with millions of hungry people who are becoming increasingly desperate.

So, Natasha and some new friends hatch an audacious plan to use some of the University’s horses to reach her family in Northern Maine, where they will be welcomed and have plenty of food and water... if they can get there.

600 miles of the unknown lies between them and the safe haven. And before they can escape the violence of New York, Natasha must retrieve something that was stolen from her village.

It won't be easy, but this is her only shot.

Don't miss this thrilling EMP/CME Post-Apocalyptic tale from best-selling author David A. Simpson. This disaster series is perfect for fans of Kyla Stone, A.G. Riddle, Bobby Akart, Jack Hunt, and Ryan Schow.

Hummm, you hafta decide if this dark gritty trilogy is for you...

I always review each book separately when dealing with a book bundle... so here goes...

Book 1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This isn't generally a genre that I enjoy listening to. But surprisingly the book was actually fun, which I hadn't expected... And I liked it.
When Natasha and her group of university students hatch a bold plan to travel cross-country to Maine a horseback! Once you mix horses into the story, I'm hooked. It's love at first sight! The story isn't an easy one though. It's convoluted and with lots of setbacks. So, yeah you'll want to find out what happens when you start listening to Solar Tsunami.
I hadn't ever listened to Eric A Shelman narration before and I discovered that he was quite good.

Book 2 ⭐⭐⭐

Man. What a Let Down! I haven't read a bridge book in a long time, I've either been super lucky or the authors I enjoy haven't had to stoop so low... This is a classic horror filled slog to cross that bridge inorder to get to the next book. Natasha and her group of friends (the only characters worth a damn) are trying to reach her family, and the reindeer herds her family is known for! But wait two other groups are trying to converge there too, for other reasons. And none of those reasons are good... will I read the next book, debatable, but I do have the third book, it's downloaded and luckily it's short, so maybe... but it will definitely be after I read a good book or two or ten!

Book 3 ⭐⭐⭐

I finally girded my loins and picked up this book as I definitely hadn't been satisfied by the second book. I actually gave up listening to the audio version because of the dark gritty nature of the storyline, figuring that it would be less visceral, less in my face if I read it instead. And I think that was a good call on my part. I found that I was really only interested in Natasha's story and just skimmed past parts about Tico, knowing that he was evil and never gonna change. But I gotta say that this time the ending was satisfying.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
