The Colonial Defense Forces usually protect humanity from alien attack, but now the stability of the Colonial Union has been threatened, and Lieutenant Heather Lee and her squad are called to squash a rebellion on a colony world. It seems simple enough - but there's a second act to the rebellion that finds Lee captive, alone, and armed with only her brains to survive.
The Sound of Rebellion is a tale from John Scalzi's The Human Division, a series of self-contained but interrelated short stories set in the Old Man's War universe.

What made the experience of listening to The Sound of Rebellion the most enjoyable?
This story started out one thing, and then it changed. I just kept getting more intense and interesting. The drama and tension built, but there was still a trace of comedy relief. I love books that can make me laugh but still have me on the edge of my seat to the end. The fact that this short story can do all of that in such a short time is brilliant. Brilliance shown by both the author and the narrator. What did you like best about this story?
The narration is wonderful. Perfect pitch. I can see the irony that would be evident without the words.Which character – as performed by William Dufris – was your favorite?
I read that question twice and then went and checked the narrator's name. The main character is a woman and even though I know it was a man's voice, my mind tells me I heard a woman. That is a real skill. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This was a book I had to listen to in one sitting. I couldn't just listen to part of it and go do something else. I needed to know the end.Any additional comments?
this is a great series. I'm torn as I can't wait for the next one to be released, but then there is one more gone towards the end of the series. I don't want it to end. But I want to know what happens. Colour me confused much?Look with your ears.
