About this listen

The end of our marriage was only the beginning…

Last night, we celebrated our anniversary. Over candlelight, we talked about the children, our work, and I was so happy, and felt so loved.

But the next morning, when I check my phone, there is a message. From a friend. And a string of photos appear of my husband, Will, with another woman: walking along the street holding hands. Going into fancy hotels. Standing at a window, his arms around her, her head on his shoulder…

I beg Will to tell me what’s going on. But all he can say is that it’s not what I think. As if the betrayal wasn’t bad enough, he won’t even be honest with me.

And now there’s someone watching our house. Will is acting like a stranger and I think he’s following me. I can’t trust him anymore, and I desperately need to know who sent me those photos and why.

But maybe Will is telling the truth.
Maybe it’s not what I think.

Because the more the two of us tear each other apart, the more I wonder if I ever knew him at all – and what I’ll have to risk to protect my children.

And when at last the secrets are revealed, will the truth save our family, or destroy us all?

A thrilling, gripping story about a marriage falling apart and the darkness love can contain. Listeners who love Lisa Jewell, Ruth Ware and Shari Lapena will be hooked by The Split.

As always SE Lynes taps deeply into the psychology of both men and women! She's Awesome!

I love the narrator!! The over all cadence of her voice is so pleasing! it's like she's telling me exactly what happened as she lived it! lol... I guess that makes it a really good book!!!

Entertaining

I figured out the plot less than an hour into the book, but it was still enjoyable to listen.

Bloody brilliant! Never dull or a lull.

I just finished Susie Lynes’ audictive offering “The Split” with anticipation and creepy delight. Exceedingly difficult to take a break. Devious subplots? Indeed! My jaw hit the floor throughout. Who can be trusted? Friend or foe or psycho? Emotions and danger run amok. Tamsin Kennard always shines through with her flawless narration. Lynes and Kennard are a dynamic duo, and their collaboration is pure magic. These two accomplished women make for a precisely matched pair. Finishing this thriller, I anxiously await for more. Shrieking from my rooftop, Epic, I say! EPIC! EPIC! EPIC!”

I guess it wouldn’t have been a story…….

………if the couple behaved like adults and communicated. I figured out who Ian was pretty early on. But this couple acted like toddlers in the assumptions and listening to others. It wasn’t a horrible listen but it was predictable and not shocking.

Waste of time

Narration was good. I first kept listening in hopes that the story would get better. Then I kept listening just to finish it and move on to the next book. Waste of time. Sad attempt at a shocking twist. Dumb characters who could have avoided the stupid situation with a simple conversation between adults. Unintelligent writing.

Not for me

I thought it would be a good mystery. I was incorrect. Kept wanting to quit but was hoping it might get better. I’d pass on this if you are looking for edge of seat book.
